**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

o well. Looks like i'll be cancelling my preorder
not a native Media Center Extender makes me sad :(
can't justify the cost now.

I was thinking about the lack of release date last night and went over a few things in my head, and I can only come up with two realistic conclusions for why they haven't announced a date yet...

1) They are not sure what date they can hit. Whether it's because of production issues or whether they're still unsure of exactly how many consoles they'll have, they don't want to finalise a date until they're 100% sure they can make it.

2) They have a date in mind, but are unsure if all the games will be ready. This one seems fairly likely to me. It's obvious to everyone I think that MS would like to launch ahead of the PS4, but if they originally had a late November launch date in mind and now want to launch earlier, they will have to make sure all of the launch titles are also available. Given that some titles (like Watch Dogs) are not due until the middle of the month, perhaps they're negotiating with the various companies to try and make the games available earlier.

I could be wrong, but those are the only 2 feasible reasons I came up with.

Yeah those are the most likely, Although another possible issue could be software, rather than hardware issues. We have been seeing a lot of news come out in the last few days about features that are now not coming at launch. Maybe they are holding back to make sure they get some specific features in there from the start?

Xbox One will support upto 8 wireless controllers at a time, with a range of 30ft.
Cant see any games supporting it, but good to know in theory you could have a big local MP game of something :)

I hazard a guess at No1.
