expensive hobbies

Without a doubt I think mines got to be travel. Dread to think on what I've spent on it. Maybe £20k? But I feel I've got a lot to show for it :)

Trust me, it's nothing compared to owning a horse :(

Agreed, sister has a horse and she hemorrhages money on it. She totalled it up and it costs her at least 8-9k a year or something ridiculous like that and shes owned horses since she was 18.

Thats almost 81k, gone, and all you have is several tons of shoveled **** to show for it :p

Is it a job or just a hobbie? Or both? Would be amazing to do something like that but im not sure I could live without home comforts :p

Just a hobby but would like to try and make a job out of it. Have a couple of avenues I could pursue into making it a career.

You get used to less comforts, thing is though in most places it's cheaper so you can have a higher standard of living. Spent 3 days in Moldova last week and good Pork steak with boiled potatoes and two pints of beer brewed in the restaurant was £6 so I ate very well indeed :).

When I qualified back in 2001, by 2006 I had spent over £25k! :D Worth every penny though ;)

Oh yes, no doubt, I don't regret a single penny. I've got to say it's making it really hard for me to save towards a house deposit when I'm saying yes to every holiday that's skydiving related recently.

top one is around £600 - £700 bottom one £580 and i used to own a ebr which was over £1600 pistols are normaly around the £150 mark although i do have a usp worth £280.

HOW MUCH!?! The real versions of those guns cost less than that. I suggest you try that instead. For example I hope to pick up a SIG 522 for £750 in the not too distant future and that is the rip off UK price too! After the initial outlay the other costs are cheap - for example club membership is £50 a year, range fees of £2.50 a go and ammo is £4/100 rounds.

Yup. I spent most of my time travelling abroad to jump as the weather in this country doesn't lend itself too well for skydiving unfortunately. Besides, some of the rules are more relaxed abroad too! ;)

When you have 2 rigs, lots of kit, cameras, etc... it all clocks up!

why not just join the army..they let you dress in camo, play with guns, shoot people and they pay you to do it

your hobby then costs nothing

Archery. Not as expensive as some hobbies in here. Complete bow was around £800, arrows were around £200 a dozen, case / quiver / other sundries a couple of hundred.

Still, lets me get out of the house and shoot stuff without having to talk to anyone :D

If I lived in the west midlands the football hobby would cost a lot more, lucky enough I live in sussex so not as easy to get to every match. I would definitely get a season ticket if I lived up there. Some interesting hobbies in here though nice to see people showing an interest in all different things :)

This year other hobbies:

Hifi - £7000
Camera lens £1000
Golf club membership £1000 ish

Sorry we didn't get to Minsk, we were just in Belarus on some driving hol with the fam to some Bison parks LOL :p

But I've heard it is grimmage!

I was only there for 10 hours in winter on a transit visa but it was pretty grim. Went to the ballet though which was really good (Not my thing but thought I'd give it a go at £4 a ticket :)).

Got to love Eastern European value!

What would you say your favorite country is so far?

For me hands down Vietnam! I traveled from Saigon to Hanoi in 2007 and absolutely loved it!

I don't think I've got a favourite country but my favourite city is Kiev and I don't really know why, it's like a small chilled out Moscow that's a bit cheaper as well. Been twice now and plan to keep going.

Actually maybe China, the people are so openly curious which I really like.

North Korea was by far the most interesting to visit though, would love to go back but it ends up being quite pricey.
