Shopto are still taking pre-orders for ps4 but Sony stated to all to retailers that after August 6th no ps4 are garunteed for release date.

I've used pre pay plenty of times in the past and not had an issue? Or does the account credit work different ? I paid for my ps4 ages ago but wasn't via using account credit I just clicked pay

I stuck a £100 "top-up" on my account the other day to test it, they've then taken payment for a pre-order directly off my card and not what I have in credit with them.

Very very very very very very unlikely. They aren't meeting the demands of the preorders so the chances of you walking in off the street and grabbing one are laughable.

Some stores won't be allocating all their stock for pre-orders. Some keep a certain amount back for in-store sales, regardless of pre-order demand. So I hear, anyhow.

Indeed. I think many shops will have stock on launch day (so did 360 and PS3 iirc, just they sold out the small amount in shops quickly).

I think you will need to queue up though, and early!

I hope so Doubt i'll get one release day now unless someone knows where you can pre order to get it guaranteed release day?

Good idea might go in and ask then i have two 24 hour Tesco stores near me and an asda doubt i'll go midnight though, It's also my birthday on the 29th so would be amazing to walk in a store and get one!

it's my birthday also, but i've pre ordered just in case, will walk into tesco before midnight in case of queues.

If the shops are opening at midnight to sell the console, you'll need to be in the queue way before midnight to even stand a chance of getting one. I can pretty much guarantee that.

I normally wouldnt say this, but supposedly Hynix supply the PS4s GDDR5 and its main fab just had a fire, might cause knock on delays on further shipments next year. Also affects the Wii-U (stop that sniggering! )

Though surely Samsung now make dense enough chips to cover that? I dno...

Never been to one before

If they're keeping stock back to sell to the general public, it will literally be a first come, first served deal. That's how it worked the one time I went to a midnight opening for a console launch. I arrived, got given a number (11 in my case), wandered around the store picking my games, then went up when it was my turn to get my console. This was for the Dreamcast though, so I can only imagine how much more mental it will be for the PS4.
