Ever been mugged or had someone attempt to mug you

I got mugged a couple of times as a teenager but never more than a few quid and the majority of them entered my friend circle and realised they had once done me wrong and more than paid me back.

No one has tried to mug me since I became an adult many moons ago these days I would just try to fight whoever it was.

my stepson has been attacked 3 times in the local area on his way back from work around 3am and every time just whacked the guys and ran off.

seems to work for him, I guess they are shocked when someone instantly fights back

It was a 2 v 1 situation for me really. I have never seen someone so dodgy in my neighborhood throughout the years I have lived here, that instantly set my alarm bells ringing even before she said a word.
I don't think it would be worth fighting, considering I was only 100m away from my house. Also who knows if they were carrying.

Just the once, walking back plastered after a night out, got surrounded by three guys. They started demanding my stuff, I wasn't really thinking so carried on walking and talked a bit back. Got hit a few times, which sobered me up enough to look around at the three of them slowly. One of them threatened to stab me, so I thought, I don't think this fight would be worth it.

Police recovered my watch and cards, but not my phone, and somehow didn't have enough evidence to arrest

Never been successfully mugged.

People have attempted and I have taken a couple of (minor) beatings, but nobody has ever taken anything from me lol.

Once a very, very long time ago must have been my second wage(going back about 20 years) only thing the halfwit got was a bull terrier bite to the groin....

the Dumbass!! hehe

Got myself mortal drunk then whilst vulnerable I was mugged by gyppos. Fractured my skull in three places then phoned my gf (ex now) with my stolen phone and bragged to her about it.

Not gonna lie.. I'd felt better.

Never lost anything, except some blood :p I know it's stupid to fight but at the end of the day you're probably going to get a thumping if you hand over your stuff anyway :/

A mate of mine was mugged for his kebab while he had best part of £10k secreted about his body on the way home from Walthamstow dogs back in the day :p

Not mugged, but a friend and I got attacked by 4 guys and a girl about our age in an industrial park (cut through to the pub). Needless to say, my friend is a black belt in karate, broke ones nose, fractured anothers cheek while I rugby tackled another into a big bush. The other two ran when we grabbed a piece of pallet wood and started pacing towards them. The little Fully star all swearing - Davey. Informed the police with statements and descriptions, they were picked up on the roadside and arrested. We ended up in the pub no worse for wear :)

I've lived in London all my life ..North, South and West London ...and I aint never had no one gimmi no trouble on the street

and even if someone tried any of that lark....they aint gettin my stuff :)

If this happened to me I'd make it my personal mission to hunt them down and torch their peasant caravan.

Gypsy round my way took a pot shot with an air rifle at my dog when my mother was walking it, she phoned me and I've never arrived at a scene so fast in my life, clouted the little **** all over so hopefully he learnt his lesson.

I've never been mugged but a friend of mine who is a serving officer in HMP was threatened at an atm by a man with a knife sine time back. He is a handy lad and sparked his attacker out cold but ran off in a panic. He returned a few minutes later to find him still starfished on the ground. He left again and phoned it in but the attacker left.

I remember someone tried to mug Paddy Ashdown years ago but his attacker was reminded why it isn't wise to try it on with a former SBS captain and got paggad.

Only once, in Vietnam - I think I made a thread about it way back when. Wasn't a traditional mugging, as such, which I consider to be "give me your stuff or I'll hit you", it was just a straight hit to the back of the head with a bat and a few kicks to the ribs on the floor before they made off with my phone/cash.

Good things ultimately came of it, in the grand scheme of my life, but it didn't half suck when I was alone on the other side of the world.

Got mugged late one night on the Uni Campus by a local walking his dog about 15 years ago. Asked for the time, something didn't sit right so walked away then pegged it when he demanded my wallet! The rottweiler was faster than I was, grabbed a foot and dragged me to the floor at which point I got a minor kicking for my trouble and they helped themselves to my rather nice wallet containing £5 cash.

Got back to my car to find it got a kicking also. Missing a three windows, two damaged panels and the back seats were knackered. Idiots attempted to get into the back doors to gain access to the boot. It didn't have folding back seats. All they managed to drag past the bulkhead was a carrier bag with some de-icing stuff in it. Narrowly avoided getting written off.

Not a good day, especially with an exam the day after!

When I was 18 I was jumped whilst on my pushbike around 2am down a dark road. The guy was probably looking for a quicker way home. I was going to quick for him to get a good grip. Never pedaled so fast in my life haha :D

Years ago a couple of mates and myself got mugged leaving a city centre arcade, think we were thirteen or so. There were three of us and seven or eight of them so obviously we didn't offer much resistance, one of the £&@#€$% still used a gat gun to the back of my mates head splitting his scalp wide open. Was a shocking amount of blood.
We stumbled into the nearest open place which was a Pizza Hut, asked the manager for help, he said "what do you expect me to do?" Which is obviously a great way to take the initiative and help out a profusely bleeding child, we had to talk him into phoning police/ambulance for us!

The police were great though, even had a whip round to replace our stolen cash .

Never been mugged and to be honest if I did I'd have probably cried like a little girl and end up lying in my own blood.

So all in all he walked away with a fiver and a bottle of de-icer.

Amazing :D

Got mugged at knife point on the underground in London a few years ago. The little **** only got my Oyster card though even though I had my wallet, phone, camera and other stuff on me in the other pockets which he didn't go through. The stupid thing was he actually approached me first on the carriage. We made it to the next station before he actually did anything and I jumped off onto the platform, and he stayed on the train. Or so I thought. For some reason I thought I was safe when I got off, so stood on the platform shouting at him and calling him a **** etc. and just as the doors were closing, to my horror he got off. And then I realised the platform was empty. Then he cornered me under a CCTV camera and went through my pocket, and took my Oyster card. Luckily another passenger had come onto the platform by that time so I shouted for help and the guy ran off.

Also had an attempted mugging in Amsterdam, guy pointed a gun into my chest, but I'm guessing it wasn't real as he wasn't that pushy and got scared off. Funny thing is me and my two friends were too drunk to even realise what had happened until we got back to the hotel, when we thought hmm, probably should call the police...
