I know you guys are trying to keep it away from the forum spammers, however, for longtime members like myself, I really could do with being able to see the marketplace. How about making it that it is 1000 posts OR 3 years membership? I mean come on, if you are still here after 3 years you aren't likely to be bothered with spamming? I've been here 8 years, and about 3 years before that as a 'lurker'! Spent plenty with you guys, just want a better solution than me having to spam the forum for a month?
 
Used to be 100 posts a few years, they tightened it up.
In the eight and half years you've been a member I guess you post twice a month on average.
Go mad, start replying to Mags, sort your numbers right out in no time :)
But don't spam or be bold or create useless threads
 
Its a fair rule IMO (and you will notice it still affects me too). I've seen so many people get scammed on other forums I'm on so its good to see some high entry criteria.
 
should be 13,564. I think the requirements being high are good. I never had trouble but there are plenty of people that get ripped off.

Who cares if youve been here 27 years, if your not contribootin why should you have access.
 
If we changed the rules to accommodate your wants and needs, we would have to do it for everyone, which isn't going to happen.

Long term members contribute to the forums, 255 posts over 8 years? thats nothing.

As could lots of other people, but it's just not going to happen, the Members market is a forum perk in place solely for the benefit of regular users who contribute to these boards.

The rules are set for a reason, 3 years membership means nothing, I could create an account right now, and leave it 3 years and presto, instant access? Not likely. RE; see above ;)

It's not just about spamming, 255 posts over 8 years, again is nothing, granted you're not spamming, but you're not even contributing, 255 posts for a regular member is accrued over 2 weeks to a month, maybe even faster than that If they are very good.

The original was 250, so if you had over 250 posts before we increased the limit then you could've accessed it.
 
Seems fair the way it is imo. I heard the MM is a fluffy cuddly place where the grass is greener, the lolcats are more lulzworthy, the sloths are more rapey and ice cream tastes that bit sweeter...

Also told its a place where people sell stuff? Who knows...only one way to find out!
