About the MM

Just go fill out spec-me's in the hardware forums and make yourself useful. You'll hit 1000 by the end of the month without spamming useless posts :)

Try it and post count will get reset. And if you try and help others cheat their way into the MM, you'll have you access taken away too :p

How is answering spec-me's considered spamming? People post those looking for hardware advice. Maybe this fellow knows his tech :)

Think he misunderstood, thinking that he meant start a load of spec me threads.

THis. Basically any member deliberately attempting to increase their post count to gain access by spamming, will have their post count reduced. In some cases back to nil..

In most cases we've seen members who rarely post, all of a sudden have an urge to make 40 (for example) pointless posts a day. It's this kind of behavior we look for and it's rare we do. The matter is normally discussed and agreed first so it's not the decision of one Mod alone.

I would love to view MM, but I do like that fact its only really open to people who contribute. Ok some spammers. But mostly good people.

While access to the MM would be nice for me following a few upgrades, I totally understand why the post count is so high. I've had my fingers burnt a few times both on ebay with its "buyer protection" and on forums that require paid membership to buy/sell. The only way of getting genuine people is to set the bar high enough so that only genuine people can pass it.

Sadly for me its going to be well into 2014 possibly 2015 before I get near it, but when that day comes I will feel like I earned it.

There is also a certain irony that the OP cant be bothered to respond to their own thread.
