Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Short answer - yes (for OCUK) and almost certainly yes but I haven't checked (CJS).

Bascially all pre-orders get the China Rising DLC.

"premium" membership is sold separately (nobody has yet linked somewhere that they are sold as one item), doesn't include the main game and is ~45-50 quid itself.

CJS have the option for the China Rising pack DLC or the Premium Expansion pack (plus the standard game), thats the bit that confused me and they announced it on FB too, so have lots of people asking the same question.

Oooh, I'll go check it out after work.

Wonder if they've used the Mexican VPN trick, added on ~£1 per copy, and are just planning to sell masses?

I doubt it as it would be linked to the Origin accounts it/they were purchased on.

/edit. It was a pricing error on their side, so they refunded people.

I've bought from them many times, only had one problem but it took a little while to sort out.

They had been sold some dodgy GW2 keys, which is pretty major but i gave them another chance and more afterwards and I've been pleased since and i haven't of heard any other issues. Although i am sure people have had them as every company does.

ea have sent me a 20% discount code, due to a mistake relating to a support ticket.

could i use that with the Mexican proxy trick??

yep dont see why not, the only diffenrence is the language and the currency, so If its a 20 % off discount on the price and is on origin website it shouyld have no problems working.

Ps 19.45 for premium is cool btw
I had already got digital deluxe.

Not liking the look of the new squad perk system, imo it will just make an already great squad/team even more dominating thus more easy wins :(

Should just keep it the way it is in BF 3.....

All you have to do is wipe them / none of the perks are game deciding / a lot of the tier 3/4 ones aren't that great even compared with the rest.

ive ordered BF4 plus premium via mexican proxy but when putting in card details etc i put my address and united kingdom etc.

does that matter???

am i at risk of having my account banned ?

Who has seen the new blog post about vehicles ?

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/news/view/the-road-to-battlefield-4-vehicles/

This is the most interesting part :

Critical Hit! (and How to Recover from It)

We’ve also applied some changes to the way that vehicles become disabled and how they recover. In Battlefield 3 your vehicle became disabled when its total health was depleted by a certain amount, rendering you basically immobile and in need of an Engineer to get it back up and running, otherwise the vehicle would burn away and explode. This changed a lot about vehicle combat in Battlefield for the better, but there were still some things about the system we didn’t like, based on how players reacted. Primarily, it always felt like you had to abandon the vehicle when becoming disabled, even though there’s always the possibility of still winning the fight. And if there’s no Engineer nearby, the vehicle is most likely going to explode anyway, so there’s not a lot of reason to stay in the vehicle.

So in Battlefield 4 we’ve added a new mechanic we call the Critical Hit. Anytime a vehicle takes a hit, we check the amount of final damage that was dealt, after the angle and zone checks. If the damage was high enough, it’s a Critical Hit, and the vehicle acts much like they did in Battlefield 3, losing power in tanks or having loss of control in aircraft – but this effect is temporary, and the vehicle recovers automatically after a few seconds.

The critical hit damage threshold is carefully tweaked alongside the damage zones and glancing-hit scaling on each vehicle, in a way that promotes playing smart as both a vehicle operator, and in an anti-vehicle role. This new concept of temporary critical hits means that we keep the sense of impending danger that a damaged vehicle brings – while still allowing for brave drivers to regain control and keep fighting.

So vehicles will still disable in BF4, but they will recover if you leave them long enough. No longer is it good enough to take a tank to 50 % damage and laugh as the person has to jump out because its gone beyond the point of auto repair and left to burn itself to death.

No doubt another thing Nexus18 won't like !

Also, an interesting video from Daskro about the launchers while we're talking tanks

Doubt it. I didn't hear of anyone getting banned from using the proxy trick on BF3 when that came out.
