As many of you are aware the new GTA is out on Tuesday. I do want to get this game but with the new Xbox coming out ile probably save and get it around Christmas time. Therefore I don't want to get GTA5 on xbox360 then again on the XboxOne.

Does anyone know if the XboxOne will play Xbox360 games? If not ile just wait and get GTA5 on the XboxOne after Christmas.

Thanks

Nope, XboxOne isnt backward compatible with any 360 games.

And I doubt very much Rockstar will release GTA5 on the next gen consoles going by their past history.

They will not be backwards compatible. as they use PC Architecture in their processor as opposed to the old power processors (I think). so it would mean it would have to be ported, which could still happen if it comes to PC.

it won't be anytime soon though.

I don't see why people are buying GTA5 on the Xbox360 then. Surely it will look better on the XboxOne and with it being out in 2 months time (around that) you may as well wait.

Far higher install base, a lot of continents won't have the Xbox one until sometime next year due to supply and demand issues.

that and I don't think many want to shell out close to £500 on a new console when most the games they want are still coming to current hardware.

that's how I see it anyway, I'd be bummed out if they released it only on new hardware.

Yeah, im a little confused what to do, lol. If I buy GTA5 I won't be playing it after Christmas as im hoping to buy the new XboxOne.

Suppose I could leave my xbox360 out and play on it when I want to go on GTA5. It would get a little annoying swapping gamertags from the Xbox360/XboxOne.

Another quick question:

I bought xbox live 12 months a few months ago. Will this carry over to the new xbox? (recovering gamertag, should do?!?!).

Your live, gamertag and achievements will carry over as far i i know. No official word on whether or not the game will be coming to next gen, so your guess is as good as mine.

GTA 5 has been written for the current generation of consoles. My understanding is that it has been delayed for a while and that is why it appears to be a little strange only coming out on the curremnt gen platforms.

Based on my experience with GTA4, never ever buy a console just for a game when the game is not out yet.

I don't understand the mindset that some people have, especially on this forum. Just because a new console has come out that doesn't immediately make the old one unusable. Considering there isn't even a version of GTA V for next gen consoles in the pipeline it's very unlikely it'll appear any time soon after launch, if ever.

Many aren't buying the new consoles? You do realise that this is going the be the biggest console launch in history don't you (both Xbox One and PS4)?

Plug your 360 into your Xbone. Something special might happen.

I think we know that GTA V will come to PC. Surely it's not that much more work in then porting that to Xbone/PS4?

Because there isn't an Xbox One version. It's a current-gen game.

They have never once said there wont be an XO/ PS4 version, the same as they haven't said there would or wouldn't be a PC version - simply because they do not want to damage sales with people waiting for a next gen/ PC version.

Just pre-ordered it. "1 item will be delivered to ****** from Amazon EU Sàrl. Estimated delivery: not yet available"

Im guessing they have sold out already so I have to wait for the next lot to get delivered to them. :(

Bully was ported to the 360 from the PS2 so it's possible.

Gutted that neither the PS4 or Xbox One will be BC.
