A Muslim family who thought they were buying a cheese and onion pasty were sold one containing a meat they are not allowed to eat
Then the supermarket rubbed salt in the wound by offering a bottle of champagne, which Muslims are not allowed to drink, as an apology.

Daily Mail in opposite day shocker.

Does anyone else think this is a bit silly? Why do they expect every shop worker in the land to know the intricacies of their faith?

I'm growing rather tired of people getting offended by the slightest thing, and then kicking up a fuss as if it's their human right to not be offended by anyone.

I am offended at the fact they were offended!!

Its turned into a compensation culture where people think they are entitled to money for being offended. Grow up.... whats wrong with just saying sorry we don't drink, and im sure something else would be offered for the initial mistake. The initial mistake was clearly wrong, if they had mislabelled something containing peanuts and someone with an allergy ate it then there would be hell to pay and rightly so.

The crux of this is being offended at being offered champagne.... which is pathetic!... maybe if they had been offered a roast suckling pig :p

So how come I don't get compensation for seeing muslim women in full bhurka's? it offends me greatly seeing women treated as subordinates and forced to walk behind their husband. Who cares about me being offended? oh that's right no one as I am a white English male! I have no right to be offended it seems.

best removes the pig ornaments from my windowsill incase some Muslim who lives near me takes it personally.

and personally I would rather not eat halal meat but don't get a choice because muslims are superior beings or something

It is a less human way of despatching an animal, I don't want to eat halal meat in this country.

Maybe we need a campaign to get people to always make a point of asking in supermarkets if its halal or not and refusing to buy if it is and complaining.

It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so ******* what.
If only everyone thought similarly.

Not only is nobody forcing you to they're not even asking you to, I expect a white Jewish family would react in the same way as the Muslims in question did or even more so some activist vegetarians.

Serves 'em right for being so thick. Anyone with at least a few neurons should be able to work out that a pasty can contain some nasty ingredients including meat. They should try the sausage rolls next. Oh wait....

(please don't get offended)

Morrisons said they are currently in touch with Mr Khan to discuss a more suitable way of compensating his family.

And there you have it....the honourable Mr Khan will get himself something a little more rewarding now.

Where did I say I was being asked or forced to eat Halal meat?

I merely said I don't want to eat it.

they are not giving us a choice either.
they are pretty much forcing us to accept part of their religion into our lives.
I do not want an animal to suffer whilst it faces the same direction muslims pray in and a guy says "god is great"

keep your religion and religious meat to your self and stop trying to force it onto people

if they want halal meat then there are plenty of halal shops around there's a bunch of them just up the road from me
