Hey Guys,

I've just setup up my new 7970 crossfire setup and after a bit of tinkering I'm happy I have crossfire enabled and both cards are running fine however I've noticed a couple of things which should be easy to fix but can't find the answer on google.

I have setup a fan profile on MSI afterburner but it is only being applied to one of the two cards, not both of them. Can I apply the same fan profile or do I need to have two setup? If so how do I do that?

Next the problem is the usage of the 2nd Gfx card. No matter what game I play its always 100% usage even though the GPU 1 is down at 40-50 etc.. Again I'm assuming there's something in the setup which isn't working as it should do.

Final point is that I only seem to have GPU usage stats for the second GPU and not temps, core frequency etc...

Any suggestions or general crossfire tips are welcome.

Thanks

Make sure you're using the latest version of MSI Afterburner, which is Beta 15, 3.0.0.

Uninstall any old version, do not keep settings, restart, install new version, run it, restart.

Make sure you have Sync both cards set in afterburner settings.

Copy these settings and make sure ULPS is ticked. Restart your pc.

Then go to settings, fan tab, tick enable user defined fan control. Tick force fan speed on each update. Set your fan curve.

Play!

Well an update of afterburner and fresh boot has appeared to solve all the issues. Primary card is 5-10 degrees warmer which I expected but with working fan profiles idle is 25-35 and load hasn't gone above 68 but only a brief run of bf3.

Good lad. Did you disable ULPS as well?
