I've never accelerated to close the gap in queueing traffic no, never.

If anything I'm the one letting everyone in because everyone else is too stuck up there own **** hole to do so.

It really doesn't make a **** of difference to me if I'm 6ft further away from work / holiday destination / meeting or whatever. The time difference it would make isn't even countable.

Who said anyone else broke the law?

Wind you neck in sunshine and read what I wrote, I made it clear we are all guilty of sillyness and sometimes luck runs out.
 
Judging someone's driving on one documented instance is a bit harsh but the driving of just about everyone in that video reminds me why I generally avoid driving unless I have to :S

Not a man that's used to being questioned, are you. The point is that the car in the OP was not guilty of silliness. She just drove to where the next car was stopped. The only reason it looks like she was driving quickly up to the Beetle is because the Beetle hit the brakes quite quickly, so she had to also.

Well spotted man, just watched the video again, you can clearly see the car behind the orange Focus suddenly stopped cos the idiot in the Focus decided to do a U turn, so the rest behind had to stop quickly, both the Beetle and the Smart braked in time, the idiot in the Micra didn't as they were probably going too fast or not paying an ounce of attention and the idiot in the Audi is irrelevant, no one was blocking him/her as he had no right of way :rolleyes: in fact he is as much an idiot as the Focus driver as he was trying to force his way into the traffic by constantly lurching forward, I'm glad no one let him, I certainly would not have out of principle, anyone who tries to bully or force there way into traffic can bugger off for all I care.

Also if you watch closely the Audi driver backed out fairly earlier on when he turns his wheel straight before the Smart driver "sped up".

The car was indicating before she moved. You have your view, I disagree with it, get over it and stop trying to make out it's all about me be questioned, that is just conjecture and wrong.
 
Not sure why she was 'bad' by not letting the Q7 out? :confused:

But that is shocking by the black Micra. I hope they get the book thrown at them, but judging by the police reaction, they don't seem interested.
 
This might sound a bit stupid, but do people not have front and rear dash cams... The problem with this situation is the front camera doesn't exactly capture the damage to the front of the micra. Having a rear camera in this case would have caught the micra going into the back of her, and then the front used to capture the number plate if the back one had missed it.

Not a stupid question. Can be a load of reasons. Car in question is a smart car though so might be pretty difficult to mount one in the back? Could be financial? Who knows?!

I say who knows, probably the OP tbh...lol
 
I must admit, I didn't watch the video closely, I didn't notice the video car was standing still at the start and accelerated. It does seem a bit silly in start/stop traffic to not let someone in, in those situations I agree you can just as well let someone in. Certainly not waste fuel and brake pads to close a gap.

I see it as ''speed up so someone can join in faster after me''. ( in moving situations)

If you have the right of way, take it, do not deviate from the rules who goes first!

But, regardless of the social opinions, the car rear ending her should be taken off the road, ****'s who drive off an accident.

Disagree with the not letting them in bit regardless of right of way sometimes people can end up sitting there for ages waiting for a gap in a constant stream of traffic sometimes and often it just means easing off for a fraction to give them enough space/time to ease into the flow.

Generally I'll judge based on the traffic behind and infront of me whether I'll let someone in but regardless of right of way I'd rather be considerate where its safe and sensible to do so.

Not me personally but I know someone who did something similar. He hit a car going over a narrow bridge and didn't stop. Within hours he had a copper at his door. There was logic to his hit and run as he was over the limit. His excuse to the copper was he had a drink to steady his nerves when he got home because he was scared :rolleyes:. The copper couldn't do anything as he couldn't prove he was drinking at that time.

Still I seem to remember that he got points and a fine.
 
Aggressive driving leads to accident. Shock horror. A bit more defensive there by driving smoothly would have totally avoided that. Sure the Mirca is at fault but, the unpredictable driving by the OPs wife lead to this IMO. Kept it smooth and nothing would have happened, other than losing another 6foot in the traffic by letting the Audi out.

How small do you people think that Audi is? It's no wonder they all crashed if they're as bad at distances as you lot :p
For the record and as above, clearly the car behind's fault. May have been avoidable by better reading of the road ahead, maybe not - can't tell for sure.

Leaving a scene of an accident is a major offence, so he would do, yes.
