To answer your question though, since I've gotten older I have learned to control my "temper" when I was younger I used to do a lot of things in a fit of rage. I can't think of anything particular but generally it was against my parents saying "no you can't do X" and I would do it anyway lol. I'm much calmer now and even when my gf tells me I can't buy X Y Z I still get annoyed then I think about it and realize she is right I really don't need X Y Z.

I have also been in the same position. At least you and I are man enough to admit it and sell up before being killed. They are evil machines at times and whilst yes they do have a throttle and brake rather than an on/off switch for power, they are difficult to maintain control of in the mental sense of the power on tap for UK roads.
I was either going to lose my licence even on what I would consider the most tame of rides, or wind up having an accident. I did have that accident but was lucky and escaped with minor injuries. Afterwards I rebuilt the bike and got back on it as soon as possible to not lose the confidence. I felt like I was never the same. Combined with a growing family around me I decided to sell up. Do I regret it...at times yes.

Yeah, same really, i guess all the stress of tradesmen in and out, last minute design changes etc etc didnt help either of our moods, obviously there was more said by both of us to fuel the argument, but the jist of it was in the OP.
Arguments in our house are few and far between and normally over something trivial like this, mainly because we both do alright and normally dont go without.
I just wish people would just be honest like i have been and answer a simple question without all the usual suspects derailing the thread with, well their usual tripe, just because thats where the mood takes them.
I used to make stupid decisions when angry. I've now learned that sleeping on it is always the wisest course of action.
What I didn't do was post my retarded decisions on an internet forum populated mostly by 18-25 males and feel entitled to useful advice instead of derision.
Growing trend? It's already at epidemic levels.
