PS3 wireless security

Im new to the PS3, got it for GTA 5 so im not sure if this is a dumb question but I have my PS3 connected to my wifi and I was wondering if this is safe, is it possible for someone to hack a ps3 connected to wireless and maybe virus or erase stuff or am I just paranoid?

You'd presumably be using WPA2 on your router, right? Not that it matters, nobody's going to realistically bother intercepting what you're doing on a games console.
