Any PUAs on here?

OP, You sir can expect my doctors bill.

Just put my back out from an all over body cringe to the likes of which I have not experienced before.

Did I not mention I was a regular larp-er?

So I'm guessing this is redhead.jpg:

Seems like an industry absolutely full of BS.... while some of the basic psychology behind some of it is likely fine and some of the basic premises of being outgoing and confident, dressing well, approaching lots of women, being funny/interesting etc.. are all well and good plenty of people could learn that sort of thing by simply reading about it and going out and practicing. Whereas this whole PUA 'community' seems to be geared around selling rip off training courses too each other and building up mini personality cults around some of the supposed 'master' PUAs... basically the guys who've made lots of youtube videos of themselves and continuously sell expensive training courses/boot camps. Latest techniques/routines... as though they've delved into some deep scientific area etc... seems to stray far too far into BS territory when people get deep into NLP etc...

If you're introverted/shy you'd probably be better off spending some money on acting classes, have a go at improvised comedy etc... you'll likely come out of your shell a lot quicker that way, become more confident etc... without having to try hard at it. Keep in mind some of the basics but just go out and approach/chat to women yourself without all the additional PUA woo about negs, routines, expensive courses etc....

So OP, pop quiz hot shot, I'm a young female in a club, I've just stopped dancing to go and buy a drink, we're stood at the bar waiting to be served an alcoholic beverage. WHAT DO YOU DO?

He buys you an OcUK Fuel Energy Drink then takes you outside to try some overclocking. :p

I agree, there are many rip-off bootcamps and book sets. And yes, it is ultimately a way of building confidence and social skills (and it's no surprise that people have monetized on this idea, it's no different to many of the self-help, dieting and workout books/dvds/guides). However, for some people it has genuinely helped (myself included), and I don't think it deserves such a large amount of hate for that. Maybe I should have re-phrased the thread title to 'who has used the concept of being a PUA as a way to improve themselves and their social skills while not adhering to the douchebag stereotype that uninformed people have'. Not that it would make much difference.

I don't see any harm in this concept. Some people are naturally confident, whereas others need to believe there is a 'method' which they can master to get that same confidence. It's pretty harmless.

Actually I was going to say free Haribo, but I figured as this is GD, someone would take the sweets>van>OP is pedo route.

 Are you aware of how GD works? You are supposed to flame me

:D I knew this thread would be akin to the Titanic, but I still sent it out anyway (the iceberg being the incredibly judgmental GDers, me being Leonardo DiCaprio, and you, UncleRuckus, being Kate Winslet) ;)

Welcome to the weird zone

Draw me like one of your French girls

I find the easiest way to talk to women is not view them all as potential shags. If you don't have some "end goal" in the back of your mind, you won't be nervous, or indeed worry about not looking like some sort of Fonzi clone.

I have plenty of female friends, and have had enough long term relationships to see the benefits of the above, but maybe the nice-guy-friendzone trap isn't such a problem when you don't look like a troll to boot...
