£500 gaming PC possible?

with the AMD cpu's is it important to match the cpu with gpu because martini was saying that 6300 will go better with 7870 ?

The 8320 is the better processor going forward. The 7870 is the better GPU of course, but the 7850 is not far behind. Since all these cards are being replaced anyway, if you can wait you might get a better deal.

Agree with Teppic that 8 core is gonna come in more handy with next gen games using all 8 cores more so if mantle takes off. If the 7800 series is the same as the 7900's the performance difference will be negligible so unless there isnt much price wise between them its not worth getting the better one.

The 7850 and FX83 is never going to game better than a 7870 and FX63, regardless of the games using 8 games.
I'd jump up to Threep's build though.

Agreed.

Yes a FX8 might be "faster" than a FX6 in multiplayer in games like BF3, but for a card at 7870 level there would be no difference, as the performance would become bounded by the 7870 first. The benefit of extra two cores with the FX8 would most likely won't be apparent until people use at least graphic card of 7950/GTX670 or above (on high settings rather than ultra).

Disagree (with the MM tagteam).

As jumping the budget by 30 quid seems to be the norm, why not get the cheapest 7950 and an 8320. Dead on about the high settings observation though, so there's room in the future to stick a larger screen or up the resolution.

^ Yup. The ASrock is ok for a 6300, but the Asus is a lot better, same price, and can get the 8320 up to 4.6GHz+

If you're going over budget, get the 8320 and the 7870, or even the HIS 7950 (which makes your whole order have free delivery).

+1 free delivery is a sweet one!
