The auto switching can be a bit dodgy this year. I've got used to it now though although my defenders do still run into each other or lunge at the ball and completely miss it.

Think he's so expensive because he's he highest rated striker in Bundes and also not H/H. I agree: not worth the coins IMO but I'm persevering with him as he is decent. Playing him in a 433(4).

Just do what I do then - turn auto-switching off

Stekelenberg

Not exactly expensive but seem's to be doing the job so far. Feel's to me this year that if you're decent enough at FIFA you can turn an average player into a very decent one.

Just built a relatively cheap Serie A side, with Mario Gomez up front after seeing a few people here recommend him. He's easily been my most expensive purchase so far so he'd better be good!

Im struggling big time at the moment, cant seem to get my grove on, ive got a decent belgium squad im only missing afroman, kompany and hazard, ive tried 442 - 433 - 451 and just cant create chances, i was up in league 2 at the end of fifa 13 and now im struggling to carve out results in league 8 grrrrr.

i have found the more coins i have won and the better players i have bought one at a time to upgrade the team slowly, the worse i play.

it's so obvious the handicap is still there, when i get beaten off a silver and a bronze team the other day.

i mean how is a silver defender keeping Costa quiet when he has ruined so many of the best gold CB's.

team couldn't pass for tosh either and were running slower than normal too.

i think the only option is to basically build a 79/80 rated team, which means it's 4.5 stars which means you have the edge when playing gold teams who will be 5 stars.

maybe i'm just not getting on with the formation and players, but it seems like the better players i buy the worse they perform.

take Hamsik for instance, he has been terrible, Diamanti was miles better.

De Rossi and Khedira are also crap compared to the 79 rated players i had in their positions before.

Not ventured onto UT yet as I'm enjoying the manager mode and don't want the speed on UT to ruin it for me....however, I've built a cheapo team, mostly via the web app, but it seems to be giving me the season ticket packs so far! :confused:

I've never renewed my season ticket from last year, have no credit card details on file and dont have any fifa points! In addition I logged into my PS3 subscriptions and unticked the "auto-renew" option (it said my renewal was due today (30/9/13) so I'm assuming I've had a couple of packs FOC!!!

The downside, as always, is that the best player I've pulled from any pack so far is some no-mark that works part time in out local chippy!
