Here's What It Will Cost New PC Owners To Play Watch Dogs

Thread title is a bit misleading, the minimum specs are:

GPU: DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM

CPU: Quad core

RAM: 4GB

example 1
GPU: NVidia GTX 460

CPU: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600

example 2
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5770

CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9750

I'm glad I opted for an i7 though with hyperthreading as I knew games would start using 8 cores in a big way. Exciting that we're going to get the absolute best version and it sounds like a major upgrade on the consoles.

I thought your CPU only has 4 core but 8 threads ?
8 core is AMD class CPU surely

Yep, but that contains all the information, he just listed the Ultra recommendations :D

Yeah Ultra is what most people here will care about.

I'm glad that 8 cores get a mention, hopefully we will see some big improvements with games utilizing more than 2/4 cores as has been the case for such a long time. Intel's 8 cores are going to fly, look forward to seeing how an 8 core Haswell -E gets on with game like this.

Yep, saying that 8 cores or more can be used in this game. Hopefully a sign of things to come. Great to finally get scaling beyond 2/4 cores.

Yes it Would mean the I7 would not be enough to play them. Wonder how many people will convert to AMD

The latest 4/6 core Intel CPU's will still beat the AMD FX chips, but AMD's CPU's will fair better than they have done in previous games.

AMD have a real chance of shaking up the market with 8 core Steamroller chips. With future games taking advantage of 8 cores. The opportunity is their, it all depends if AMD can execute while they have that opportunity. Intel's 8 core Haswell's will be out next year...

There's still doubt in the air about the 8 core SR's happening, there's rumours about them skipping for excavator.

We can only wait and see about these new games, but it's likely we'll see FX83's getting recommended for them a fair amount in the spec's.

Steamroller yes (if it really delivers what people hoping it would be...exceed it would be even better), Piledriver and Bulldozer...no.

Don't care whatever AMD's next chip's gonna call, but if it can actually compete with Intel (beating them is even more welcomed, particular on per core performance), I'm all for it.

I'm not trolling, I'm serious. I'm also getting a PS4 and Xbox one which are 8 core and it looks like the way its heading is 8 core chips ( I7 is only 4 core normally I think apart from a few special ones ? )

Also price wise it seems AMD CPU chips are relatively cheap.
I think the new PS4/Xbox one are really shaking games development due to the cross formats programming etc. Same as when Xbox 360 came out and quad cores got more popular !
