There is a rumour circulating the internet that nVidia said gta v will be released this holiday season in time for Xmas ( November - December ) or something along those lines. Does any one think this may actually happen? I really hope so as I bought the game on xbox and it keeps freezing so would love to get this on pc and actually be able to play it!

All the evidence points to a release before Christmas.
Sit down and read through this, it explains a lot.

You can see from that thread that PC code has been discovered as well as bug reports labelled as PC.

It was also listed as November release in an etailer, then promptly removed.
A lot of things have pointed to November.

I have it on PS3 but am not playing it much as i am trying to hold out for the PC version.

i really hope it does come out November. but i guess waiting till summer next year wont kill me. its crap because i have already started playing through the game and have got into the story and want to see it through.

I don't doubt that they are working on a PC release but I can't see it this year, as they would have surely announced it by now. Also if the game were to be released in November it would be going to the presses soon and there is now way they could keep that quiet.

I am purposely not watching any videos etc and waiting fingers crossed.

I think I will need to upgrade my gfx and possibly to a HT processor depending on how good a job they do!

I couldnt wait so bought for my PS3 and have now completed it and done most of the other side missions etc and sold it on ebay for more than I bought it for (one good thing about consoles).

I'd advise to just get it for console to make the wait for the PC version not as bad, plus you can play it for pretty much free if you sell it on soon after. Then you could even wait till its cheap on PC and by that time there might be some worthwhile mods about for it and possibly some dlc.

Really good game anyway and well worth the wait!

When they get back from their 3 month holiday I expect they'll release PC version then :D :D

I'm in two minds about it to be honest, if it's pre-Xmas then it's really quiet and they've not given us any info to anticipate it. But the evidence is there that they've already started development on the PC version.

I'll place my bet at either November 29th or March 21st.

there's no way it's coming out before christmas. i don't believe a single bit of what "people have heard" and their "evidence".

i'll be all over it like a rash when it does come out and i reckon that'll be next spring/summer.

whilst it is true that nobody knows, those sceptics amongst us saying it's not coming until next year are doing so with good reason. just look at the difference between console/pc releases on previous GTA games. it's always been 7-8 months. none of this pre-order crap seen on various webshops is going to convince me otherwise.

Will it be launch available for the new consoles?

I am correct in my understanding that ps4 will play ps3 titles, but xbone will not play xbox360 titles?

Unfortunately not, neither the PS4 or XB1 are backwards compatible.

Also, R* have not even confirmed it will be out on the next gen consoles. It's a current gen console game only at the mo. Everyone is guessing - hoping - it will come out for the PS4, XB1 and PC.

There's no way it'll be out within the next 3 months, it'd already have been announced were that the case.

Besides, clearly their efforts are going to be focused on getting GTA: Online working and stable on the consoles first.

Don't get you hopes up thinking it will come this year. End of November, seriously? That's next month. Some random site has put that as a release date but it doesn't mean anything. If you remember back in the day when DNF was meant to be released, Amazon and various other sites had dates up but it didn't amount to anything- just placeholders.

Will there be a PC version? Sure, that is very very likely (pretty much certain) but expect it at the end of Q1 at the earliest. That's my guess anyway.
