** The Official Call of Duty: Ghosts (CoD 2013) thread ***

I've not been interested in the new COD at all, and that trailer had just reaffirmed it. I shan't bother... which is the first Infinity Ward CoD I've not got. Not sure about Titanfall or BF4, but both are more likely purchases for me than this.
 
It's £49 but you get a bonus map. I went to order it and it said pay now and then wanted extra bank security details. It's been years since I've ordered from them so I just expected it to say complete pre order or something along those lines.
 
Caught me out too, thought I would be charged, checked with the online support and didn't get charged. So I can confirm you won't get charged.
 
I hope the god awful match making that plagues BO2 isn't in this game.
Played BO2 earlier and got put into a lobby with people from France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Italy and Sweden.
 
Good. What a totally pointless addition it is.
Hardly anybody plays it in BO2 and IMO it is to partly to blame for the bad match making. It's why skill based match making is the main priority.
Luckily in this game they are going to ping for match making.

GHOSTS ONLINE CONNECTIVITY UPDATE: I wanted to give a quick update on some of the work that has been done to improve everyone’s online experience. We’ve already mentioned dedicated servers as part of the overall plan to improve connectivity. Dedicated servers will be used on current gen, next gen and PC with Ghosts. And, in order to make sure that people have the best possible experience regardless of platform, location or connection, Ghosts will be using a hybrid system of dedicated servers and listen servers. So no matter where you are the game will always be trying to give you the best online performance possible. There is also some great new tech in the matchmaking system that will place players in matches that have the best combined overall connectivity performance. Again these are just some of the things that are going into Call of Duty: Ghosts to give players a great online experience. Can’t wait to see you all online.

which confirms my suspicion that the deal done with MS for content etc meant that they can't name which other platforms will have servers apart from the X1.

Hmmm then I'm definitely torn. I might just get it for this gen then as it will be cheaper and still have dedicated servers and far more players to better match make.
