mavity (2013)

Grrrr having an argument with my best mate because I want to see this at Imax but he keeps saying Imax isn't good. When he went to see Avatar it was just a massive screen, nothing else, sound was awful etc.

Who is right? I want to see this at Imax but he is whinging because it costs £8 more to see it at the Imax.

edit: ok so in 2012 they updated the screens, so now he wants to see it at Imax haha

Will this be shown in 2D? I just can't get excited for the 3D after finding not only was it converted in post, but done by a certain awful company too :(

Sandra Bulloock has manly features and an Adams apple.

She has a masculine chin too

Would love to see this. Not really 'getting' what the bullock hate is about.

Indeed. She is funny as hell. Always liked that she is such a down to earth person and able to laugh at herself, and not take herself to seriously. Look at her roles she often plays, she does them very well. I don't think she is an 'amazing' actress, I just thinks she's good and gets my respect for not being snooty about status, unlike a lot of other pretentious actors/actresses.

Need to find that image of a nerd sat at a PC commenting on why he thinks a beautiful women isn't for him due to things wrong with her.

Also... I'd like to see the film... lol. :D

I think its because shes always in horrifically bad films, so people don't think she can act.
With a rottentomato score of 98% i think they maybe wrong.

She does seem to do a lot of bad films, unfortunately. It's not like, I don't know, Tom Hanks or even - hey - George Clooney, where you look at their filmography and there's barely a bad film there. She has some real highs and some real lows.

George Clooney has done some real dross, His Batman jumps to the top of the list.
Hanks has done some films i hate as well.

I want to see this but i have ZERO chance of getting the wife to go and watch it which leaves me waiting till the Bluray release.

So don't go with the wife?

If this is actually true them I'm astounded. As I've said in other posts, the 3D is absolutely essential in this movie and I assumed it was shot with 3D very much in mind. Well, don't worry about the quality anyway....it's amazing and I haven't seen a single word against it.

I must also repeat: Don't even bother unless you can see it in 3D at the IMAX. 90% of the reason this movie is SO damn good is because it's about as close as you'll ever get to actually floating around in space above the Earth. I kid you not, there were a couple of times I actually got a touch of vertigo and felt pulled into the screen.

EDIT: OK, here's the info on the 3D (no spoilers)

Bristowe related that roughly 70 percent of the 3D in the film was created in the computer by VFX house Framestore, as a large portion of these shots are CG.
The portions that were lensed in the capsule were lensed in 2D and converted to 3D at Prime Focus.
