Opinions on a build

Planning to buy my new gaming computer now I've sold the motorbike and was wondering what criticism you would give to this potential build. I have gone for the approach of spending more on 'one-time purchases' (GFX card, CPU etc) and less on easily upgradeable things (like RAM and a bigger harddrive as I already have one from my old PC)

What would you change for better performance around the £1000 mark?

This is what I would go with OP with your budget. Depending on your monitor resolution and what games you play, the 280X (7970) is sometimes better than the gtx 770. Plus this ASUS one features better components on the PCB and overvolts.

Also that PSU you posted is ott, you dont need that much power. For reference my system with a 3770k, gtx 570 and gtx 670 at full load only uses around 450 watts.

Also guys how do you post the basket like that with the pictures at the bottom and text in yellow?

Thanks, I was pretty dead-set on getting the GTX770 but I think the comparison has tipped me in favour of the 7970. Think I'll order this tonight, shame I haven't got enough posts for the free delivery!

Thanks again for the help Stulid

Thats a good shout Stulid! Also Ethermaster, I don't plan to overclock it yet, maybe in a year or so and at that time I'll buy a better cooler and faster RAM; I did, however, keep the case that you specced because its ******* awesome.

Added a blue fan for the cooler - this is my final basket, unless there are any other shouts?

Its 4pin so you still get fan control via the motherboard, the rings can be swapped and it comes with a blue, red or white.
