Oh, would be pretty cool feature though to spice up the onboard sound

As Kaveri isn't out yet, we can't know.
If Kaveri doesn't, I'd be surprised if its successor never supported that new audio stuff.

Sounds from Charlie like trueaudio will become a defacto standard, which will mean such high numbers of people with free powerful audio cards for effects that games can basically as standard add loads of audio features and know lots of users can use them.
It also sounded like trueaudio might well be in both new consoles, which means massive and quick install base so game dev's will certainly be working on audio.
Also sounds like current incarnation will be on card but essentially a separate chip and as such may have it's own drivers, I guess we'll see how that works.

Except its not on the 280x revamps so £230+ for brand new cards that aren't capable.
