I wonder if my Newcastle Uni email address would change to @****.ac.uk?

Don't see why they need to change the name anyway. Would just make us sound like some shoddy polytechnic.

cmon you know it's BS! just read the comments multiple people saying another newcastle uni was rumoured to be doing the same years ago.

it's not like the other newcastles around the world ( aus/USA ) show up first on the results for people searching from within the UK and even if you are outside of the uk is is so difficult to type "newcastle uni uk"

If a university student or potential student can not find a simple website using logic how the hell are they going to get through a university course? how backwards must they be?

I think that if trolls can register a fake application for the Half Life 3 trademark in Germany, they can register a fake application for a university. I call trolling.

The only other one I've heard of on a similar vein was the university of cumbria being abbreviated to ucum. :D

UCUM, hehe. Research University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. ok RUNUT would make more sense.
 
Haha oh dear, this just makes it funnier as I'm from Northumbria Uni, and the saying is, I'd rather be a polly than a posh **** :p
