On the 7th August 1914, in order to avoid a run on the banks, the Treasury issued Treasury Notes signed by John Bradbury - a form of national credit backed only by the credit of the nation.

The money was issued interest free through Her Majesty's Treasury. The initiative would completely remove the hold the banks have over the nation, and would kickstart a productive economy.

Our credit rating is bad enough at the moment. I will not sign.

Furthermore, nor do I believe there is to be a run on the banks and nor do I believe this would have any positive impact on the economy.

Folding money and wallet cash is a tiny proportion of the economy. What this is is historical window dressing proposing an overly complicated and ultimately futile effort.

FFS, if you don't like banks, use Co-Ops, building societies or Credit Unions.

One of the most horrific and possibly terrifying things in life is to watch someone slowly descend in to a spiral of belief that has no grounding in reality.
