reflash ? I can't imagine they're doing any hardware or firmware modifications at this point - the cards must surely already be in the supply chain
 
OCuK have the ETA up as the 31st because they have to cover themselves from the salivating masses who would descend on OCuK HQ if the card didn't come on the day they said it would.

AMD are hanging on till the last minute. This could be for several reasons 1. The yield of this new chip is pretty bad and they have left it late to get the best chips out they can.
2. That they are watching NVIDIA to see what they will do and adjust clock speeds accordingly.
3. That they don't want their card in your hands until BF4 comes out so that it is fully optimised. It makes for good marketing and good reviews.

The truth is probably a mix of all three. And possibly a fourth which is low yields means it is taking longer than expected to ship cards to distributors.

The fact that Gibbo doesn't have an ETA for their arrival in OCUK's warehouse is a tad worrying. Especially if the game is not available to us on launch day. It's a big Game launch and all other retailers will ensure pre-order folks will have their game in time for launch day.

I'm not sure OCuK can say the same in this case?

If I was a betting man though you will see cards ship on 29th October.

Everyone knows it's always, always a Tuesday for these things and that's the closest day before BF4 release.

What I meant, someone was trying to say they are holding off to see what nvidia do. As you say they are all out there on the way at this point in time.

How do i go about cancelling the 290X preorder thing? Phone? If i hear 0 news from AMD tomorrow then i'll just have to...
Rather not wait 3 weeks just for a reference card with BF4 already released

Got my cards on a Friday, the day after release date :D And before that, a Thursday, a day after release day. :D

Why would you? At this stage you have nothing to lose. Nothing has changed other than the day you might get your card.

I is temporarily poor but would really like to get my mits on a 290 I guess I will have to sit n go green watching you guys ramping up the bench threads :)
