OK, having researched as much as my little brain allows I'm eager just to get on with it now and purchase the following for an HTPC/Mig-Range Gaming rig for the Living Room.

All of the component parts would need to sit within a Silverstone SST-GD08B and I wouldn't need an OS, KB or Mouse. Can you see any glaring issues, omissions or items I could improve upon for the budget?

Thanks.

Looks good to me mate, the only thing I could think of was perhaps the card being too long, but according to the figures you should have around 2 inches gap after install so no problem

£9 more for the Samsung 840 EVO (considerably faster).

And £10 less for faster, cheaper memory?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW) £86.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G2400HC11CDC01) £59.99
Total : £156.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Great thank you mate and to you all for your rapid responses. Pleased I've put something together that in the main would appear to work.

Relatively expensive mobo for the system the Z87 below would still serve your purposes well and with a free decent after market cooler included you could use the saving for 16gb or a bigger SSD

Just an idea

The Silverstone SST-GD08B will only take a cooler up to 138mm in height.

Limitation of CPU cooler: 138mm

OK, I've gone ahead and ordered it now but I believe everything in my original order, less those parts I've replaced following oceaness advice, will fit inside the case in question.

I've had my ruler out and all sorts!!!
