I debating on getting another 7990 at the moment what will I really benefit from having 2.im only running at 1080p at the moment but maybe go higher resolution later on,so should I take the plunge?

A single 7990 is more than sufficient for running at any resolution that current monitors can provide.

Only reason to get another would be for 4k or multi-monitor setups in my opinion.

I thought maybe get one now so when I make the jump to higher res il be ok,I just got a feeling I'm gonna kick myself if I don't a second one up at £439.

you cant value a feel good factor :D

[are you going to watered them? or leave it as air cooled?]

You would almost literally have to be mad to do this in my opinion.

At 1080p, having 2 7990's is the equivalent of trying to kill a wasp with a thermonuclear weapon. Overkill to the extreme!!!

And as has already been pointed out, the bottleneck would mean you would be lucky to see any performance difference whatsoever.

no no no, another 7990? i have one and i play at 1080p, the single 7990 is all you need, mines bottlenecked atm by my CPU and it still gives me amazing performance at low usage and thats everything maxed out on every game ive played with it

if you want to upgrade, get a better monitor (im looking for one for this very reason)

They all sold now,I'm going to upgrade soon to higher res it's just they were at such a great price u didn't want get a year down the line and think to myself ( I wish I got another when they were so cheap) syndrome.

I think you have avoided spending a lot of money. For two HD 7990s you would need waterblocks, radiators, etc. I don't know if your CPU would deal with 4 GPUs (I have not seen any reviews).

Something you could look at in the near future is upgrading to a couple of R9 290 series cards. When they launch the RRP for the HD 7990s will be going up so you could get a good price for your one if upgrading.

too right! if you spend the £500 on a new mobo and a i7 haswell cpu, you'll probably see more of a difference in performance than with a second 7990
