Green Tea

My wife drinks about 6 half litre mugs of Jacksons green tea a day and swears it keeps her healthy.

My wife make me drink green tea every now and again, when she has one of her "you eat too many kebabs and now its time for detox, you fat *******s" moments.
Basically i dont have a clue what the brand is all i know it tastes foul and makes me wee like a race horse.

I drink it in the evening, I pop a green tea bag (flavoured) into a 1.5ltr cold water bottle, flavoured water to hit the gym - with the added health benefits. Result!

Who drinks it and what is your favourite brand/flavours? I drink least 3-4 cups a day no other hot drinks.

To those who don't it has MANY health benefits just Google if you are interested.

Unite fellow green tea drinkers.

Do you have any links to peer-reviewed clinical trials in respectable medical journals detailing the physiological benefits?

have a few cups of green tea with Jasmine every week, I got hooked on the stuff in Hong Kong a couple of years ago as it seemed to come with every meal!

I have just bought a Gaiwan and a green tea taster selection from the Journal of Chinese Medicine website. Also got a box of YamaMotoYama Genmaicha on the way to try something different, will report back :)

EDIT : As to the reported health benefits.... who cares... drink it if you like it :)

Another Clipper lemon green tea drinker here, Mainly due to the fact its the only tea i drink without sugar so drink it when i feel ive had to much sugar recently ie when the missus brings home packs of viscounts

Oolong is probably my favorite green tea though I have started drinking white tea because it is less refined and so the health benefits should be greater. For value I get my tea from http://www.simpli-special.co.uk/ for quality I would go for http://jingtea.com/. I started off with Twinings but seriously this is as far removed from proper green tea as tesco's value bitter is from a fine single malt.

??? how do you not make it right?

Temperature of the water, should be around 80C for most green teas whereas black tea wants 100C.

I keep meaning to get myself sorted with a strainer so I can buy loose sencha, really had some good tea over in Japan, wish I knew what type of tea it was. I also had some good tea over in Korea, I really enjoy Genmaicha (green tea with brown rice) that you get over there.

Now and then i might buy a pack of green tea from a asian store. Drinking it tho, its very very off and on as its not the nicest of things to drink and you cant put milk in really. So lets say i had some i probs have a cup of it or two per erm 4 months or somit.

If it tasted a bit nicer maybe it could have replaced tea and coffee who knows. But i grew up on tea and coffee so i generally am a pg tips or Nescafe drinker.

I've now replaced the teabags I use at work with Tetley 'Blend of Both' - it really does taste pretty much like normal tea; I get through around 5 cups per day.

Then at home from time to time I drink the varieties of Twinnings flavoured Green Tea - they all taste really good.

I can't stomach green tea on its own.
