Most of us here from time to time go out with friends and like a good drinking session , so what hangover prevention methods does everyone use? (and actually work) Obviously the best would be to just not drink, but thats no fun :P

Prevention is impossible! But you can subdue the effects with a lot of water and a lot of food.

I always seem to wake up drunk too, which is exceptionally annoying! Water helps a bit. Whats best before you start boozing? Does taking vitamins actually help?

Food and a pint or two of water before bed and your head will be sorted...

Depending on what you eat though, your tummy might not! :p

The best way is just to drink about a pint of water before you go to bed, I'm unconvinced that adding painkillers will make a difference as they would surely wear off?

Just drink some water, then try to sleep on your back. ;)

Milk Thistle when you get home and again when you get up, use to work for me. Although I always alternated alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks whenever I was out.

On the odd occasion that I forgot to take it it was a full on Irn Bru and baked beans lunch with toast. No idea what they worked, I absolutely can't stand Irn Bru but it kicks you right up the behind.

Sounds bloody foul now I think about it.

I'm a boring chap that just doesn't drink enough :p

Can't be dealing with not functioning the next day, nothing worse than wasting a day in bed feeling sorry for yourself.

What works for me - make sure to drink a reasonable amount of water before going to bed, toast + honey and half a glass or so of milk when I get up and then staying hydrated throughout the day - I usually keep some ibuprofen to hand the next day but rarely need it.

Drinking better quality alcohol definitely helps. Beer without nasty chemicals in it is better for not getting a hangover. And with spirits, go for decent brands and avoid anything pre-mixed.
