The fact that the auction ends on the 25th makes me think that whichever muppet ends up "winning" this item, will no doubt pay over the odds for something they could've ordered from a proper store on Friday.

It's an auction though, the buyer has chosen the current price, not the seller.

yes i know, but when does it get released ?, the auction dosnt say its a pre-order.. so if it dosnt get released on fiday, then what is the 'buyer' going to receive.. or if they receive anything at all.

Someone who works for a retailer who is in the know could easily of told a mate when the release date is and got him to make an auction to cash in. of course thas just speculation but who knows.

i was thinking the same, but also, there is people who do reviews. and it could be one of them ?, trying to make some cash from a free card.

If that is a press or ES card I find that a very poor show! AMD never had many and for someone to sell their's and before the NDA is just a very poor show.

If its a retail product, I suspect AMD will no doubt buy, trace the serial and then send the heavies around.

Chances are, it's utter carp, auction has stock images, not actual photographs!
If the guy even has a card, I'd be surprised...

Even if it was a genuine card, does it really matter? It is not like he can duplicate it and sell it on...

Plus, any photographs or reviews of the device will likely be disbelieved anyway.

It is a chancer hoping to cash in on a victim, who pays well over the top price and the seller sends him one when they are released.

Yea most likely case. I think auction site don't allow people selling what they do not have? (unless it's clearly listed as a pre-order in an actual store) But then again lots of people still do that anyway.

Out of interest, what would the outcome be if the serial was traced back to a large retailer? Say a staff member had scooped one from stock to auction off? I know said member of staff would get the boot but would the retailer get put on some sort of blacklist?

i would have tought that they would just get fined, or mayben ot even that because it wouldnt be the retailers fault if a member of staff has put one in there pocket.

on a side note. look at there username on the said site. its some sort of blog/review site
