Hangover Prevention

you go to open your mouth and realise it is bone dry, you have never experience dry mouth like it, it's as if your tongue is made from cardboard that

I'll have to stop you there. Dry mouth from general anesthetic far exceeds anything I've had from a hangover. I've literally had my tongue stuck to my mouth from that.

Crisps, coke, sleep and bit of slap and tickle ;)

:p

Usually a big meal before going out and then a couple of pints of water when returning home does the trick for me. Sometimes this doesn't work or I end up being too drunk to bother with pints of water when I get home, waking up at midday still in my clothes. Usually leads to me lying on the sofa for the rest of the day with the duvet saying I'm definitely never ever drinking another drop of alcohol again. :D

Try having water during the drinking session. Not only does it keep you hydrated but it naturally slows your drink consumption and once you start on water you're often in better position to judge how drunk you actually are. Seems to work well.

Prevention is key.

Multi-vitamins before you go out, leave a bottle of water on your pillow when you head out the door (that way when you fall into bed, you have a better chance of at least swilling some of it into you before you pass out), and multi-vits when you wake up.

I used to follow that with a beer and food to keep you sane until the vits and water did their thing, but as a recovering alcoholic I can't really recommend that because it often leads to a vicious circle.
