****The Official Note III Thread****

not sure but everything is marked on the phone and there are diagrams in the guide you get with the phone.

Also 1 thing to note make sure you push the SIM all the way in until it won't go further it will not click or anything as it has no spring mechanism this is also the same for the SD card

Lucky you...

Visually everything is fine with mine just have the dreaded Wi-Fi issues although it's not dropping just slow.

Other than that very pleased with the phone, still smashes all the competition

I bought my Note II LTE for less than £500 in November last year so I was a bit shocked at the launch price of the Note 3! Glad it's coming down to the appropriate value. It's got to smart for all the mugs who paid over £600 though!

I knew it would drop and fully intended to wait.

Then I couldn't be bothered to wait. Not a huge issue, I'll just not eat food for a month to make up the difference :p

I've spent the entire day (since 3PM) wiping and restoring my phone app by app and making sure everything works. I'm now running Sweet ROM which is MJ3 and region free (will be good next month when I'm on the other side of the World).

This ROM is de-odexed and has Xposed installed by default. I don't notice any performance drops with Xposed on this compared to Odexed so definitely some improvement here using it.

What made you do it one by one?

Are you using the DPI app?

Making sure every app works at each stage. Restored with titanium then fixed the SELinux structure using the fixer app for Note 3 (Play Store). This way I know that all my backups are fully working and restorable on tap.

No DPI changes here. I may play around with that later but for now I don't really have the need.

How do you make your phone region free? It's already region free when a ROM from your own region is installed and you use the device?

Sim card region free. UK phones are only usable on EU ROMS, US phones on US sims etc.

Edit*
Changed DPI, set various Samsung apps (phone, camera etc) to default 480 with Xposed then set global DPI using Texdroider. Will see how I get on with 320 global for now.

Thats it ive had it with the note 3, i seem to be really unlucky latley, further from my issues with the battery bulging and screen gaps, the up volume button has stopped working and the loud speaker at the bottom will not play any sounds anymore - still have to wait till friday for a new batch of black note3's as i dont want the white :( all volume sliders are on the default levels, nothing muted, factory reset doesnt solve it either :(

How on earth can i be this unlucky :( must have got the tail end of a bad batch, no idea where it was made but they arent very good with QC (sure samsung have different places they are made, korea/vietnam and somewhere else)

Sounds like you've been the unluckiest out there, you'll get a good one but in the meantime play one line on the Lotto tonight, it might just be your day ;)

:( Ive already done that mrk, as you say you never know lol :) thinking if and when i get it replaced and it happens again ill just get a refund and wait a few month for QC to settle.

Right question to you note 3 owners, Do any of your handsets have any screen gaps at all, im talking about actually seeing the edge of the glass being visable between the silver (metal/plastic cant decide)
I know it doesnt take away from the fact the phone still works and isnt a massive issue in the grand scheme of things, but for £500+ cant help but feel like its a kick in the nether region, i just want to see if im being overly sensitive to this issue.
For example the first one, the whole left side had a 1mm gap with the glass pushed all the way to the right, Looked horrible no matter what angle you viewed it from.

This second one is more uniform compared to the first one, but all 4 are sort of bulging is the only way to describe it, where you can visably see the edge of the glass, so you can see the silver its supposed to be covering (if that makes sense) also half way down both sides its uneven :(

Mine has no gap problem like you mention above, it appears to be even running my nail edge along each ridge. If it was uneven it would be back to P4U for a swap :p

Did you take any photos of it? My handset is 0x1 because I rooted before the root-de-la-vega method (Knox flag warranty safe) came about but I have no intention of returning it or selling it before the warranty would have been up so this isn't really of concern to me any more.
