For those who want :)

The upgrade will upgrade a basic hornet or a package containing the basic hornet you already have into the variant you chose to upgrade to. The add on will add a new ship to your hangar.

Just thinking about taking part in a strike mission...A formation of 2 or 3 Retaliators escorted by a flight of Hornets heading deep into Vanduul space makes me feel giddy.:D

Super Hornet is capable of fitting all the mods the ghost and tracker variants have but it has the bonus of a second seat for a friend or AI to act as turret gunner/radar operator/countermeasures operator etc and has a jump drive which the others dont and a larger power plant.

My personal advice is if anyone is jumping at the Hornet, get the super hornet variant to allow more diversity

Also: upgrade = turning the stock hornet into one of the new variants. an Add on means adding just the ship to your original pledge pack

Another 55 dollars ... crazy...
Can you get refunds on things you already bought/pledged in this? :D

You can take any ship/package you have already pledged for and melt it back into store credit.

if you have any questions and Teamspeak access i can hook you up with my communities TS details and talk you through anything you want.... just not open heart surgery :D

I am pretty sure Ill melt my 315p soon.
I was thinking about exploration and this ship just doesnt look like being capable of deep soace exploration. Maybe a freelancer...
Any other fighter class ships with a jumpdrive and tractor there or did I miss something?

Not really. Freelancer will fill your requirements to be honest, maybe the cutlass if there is an explorer variant released for it

Oh is that so? So not purchasable in the game?

I mean is it an advantage to have that second seat? Lets say you put an AI in it, what difference would it be to a standard Hornet?

All ships are purchasable in-game with in-game credits.

The super hornet is 'limited' for backers to purchase with real £££ and have it their inventory right now, instead of waiting to get it in the game.

Thing is if you can buy these all as they are saying, why spend more?
Thats what Im thinking at the moment.

A large percentage of backers are interested in play-testing the Alpha and Beta versions, feeding back their findings and helping to shape what does/does not get included in the game.
Some are interested in finding and reporting bugs.
Others just want to play it NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like me..... :D

Basically, having tangible ships in a hangar where you can walk around and see stuff has got people buying loads more. It's an acquisition/consumer mindset, I guess, but a notable number have spent more money that I earn in a year on this and plenty more have spent money they really cannot justify. Retail therapy for geeks!

Even I am considering buying more ships...
