Geforce GTX 780 Ti to end up faster than Titan

We have heard from multiple independent sources that the upcoming Geforce GTX 780 Ti will end up faster than the Titan, and obviously significantly faster than original Geforce GTX 780 card.

It would be hard for the GTX 780ti not to be faster than a Titan in the same way most non ref GTX 780s are also faster, well until we start overclocking that is.

I think the Titan will remain fastest followed by the 780ti followed by the 780 but the differences will be tiny.

My advice to anyone buying a GK110 based card is buy the cheapest one you can get and overclock it.

Didn't we already know this? At the Montreal press conference Nvidia said it was the fastest card they had ever made.

I hate how everything is compared to Titan.

Nvidia probably only released and priced the titan as they did to make the overpriced 780 and upcoming 780ti seem excellent value for money as in reality not many 'sane' people purchased titans anyway.

Nvidia will want the single GPU performance crown back. I am pretty sure they will make sure the 780ti is faster than a Titan/290x

Well the Titan did sell more Titans in a couple of months, than the GTX 690 did the whole time it was for sale.

I don't know why people knock the Titan so much for being poor value, if you also count it's compute abilities and 6gb vram it is probably one of the best bang for buck cards around. If people want to buy them and not use these things that is hardly NVidia's fault.

Wouldn't suprise me - most of the "ultra" GeForce cards have been in the region of 15% faster or more - I can't see nVidia really bothering with a ti card that was say 7-8% faster.

The ultra is usually the most powerful core overclocked but i doubt this 780 ti will be as powerful as a titan core so a little different.

They can make it as fast as is needed, there is lots of overclocking headroom on the gk110 chips.

I doubt many people bought them because of the name. The 290X is massively hyped up, as is more or less every top tier GPU.

It's hard to see how they're gonna squeeze much more than 10% out of GK110, a fully unlocked chip with same cores as Titan and a decent stock clock with 3gb RAM is the only way but that's highly unlikely.

It was good value really, it basically gave people access to this gens (R2xx vs Maxwell) performance, last gen, the R290x trades blows with it out of the box and that box costs at least £430, so another way to look at it is that Titan gave people the chance to buy a £450 card 8 months early if they paid a premium.

With Jen-Hsun saying that the 780Ti is the fastest GPU they have ever made, I think it is fair to say it will be faster than a Titan.

Given how close to the Titan the 780 already was, it would be hard (not to mention pointless) to release a TI that again fell short of Titan. Titan has had what, 7 months as Nvidias flagship card, it will need to be beaten eventually.

However, it will have to be priced at a decent price point, with a 780 price drop as well, to make Nvidia a sensible purchase (if the proprietary features aren't all that important to you).

I did not believe any of the hype about the Titan before it launched, I bought it entirely based on what it could do.

I can see Nvidia having to do something about prices. The 290X is a fantastic card and for the price, it just makes it that bit better. Maybe when the Ti is launched, Nvidia will also drop prices but maybe they are still selling like hot cakes....
