Genuine question, I've got people saying nothing to worry about and then others saying a 1 in 20 year storm

It's not going to be a mega storm, that is just an exaggeration, but the people acting like it's going to be a small breeze are completely wrong as well.

There is potential for damaging winds, so just keep an eye on the forecasts as it's going to be changing many times a day.

im not seeing sustained wind forcasts that high, im seeing 45-50mph sustained wind gusting to 70mph. so 8-9 on that scale

yeah i saw that one also, they say there that the south coast will be effected most by the strong winds, and from looking at xc weather the further east you go the higher the wind speed, dungeness will take a hammering.. http://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/dungeness
if i wasnt going to Chessington on monday i think id take a drive down the coast for a look

It looks like a lot of the meteorological organisations models are converging to a concesus it's just the timings and exact path now.

It definitely looks like there will be some damage just the extent will be interesting to see.
