Hi all,

I've a couple of 8800GT's that I had second hand quite a while a go now and they've both had issues with fans. The working on has started sounding small generator banging away.

I've had it out, cleaned it but i think it must be bearings or something dying.

Question is, can I get replacement fans for these cards still or should I just save the £20-40 and get a newer cheap gfx card. I dont care about playing games at the top settings, as long as it looks good and is playable that's fine by me.

I do some video editing and a lot of photo/image editing, plus gaming.

Any suggestions or ideas?

If you don't care what the GPU looks like and want a fix on the cheap..

Then just tie wrap an old standard small PC case fan or a CPU heatsink fan to the GPU heatsink ...;)

(You most likely have some these fans laying around from old PC systems)

I don't care as long as it works and i need to strip it all down, clean it and rebuild it anyway with the extra cpu cooling i bought so could use the stock cooler off that if i can get a tight seal :D nice idea!

It'll do until I can afford a couple of hundred for a decent card :D
