Your guess is as good as mine.

I saw this name and 5 minutes later the post was deleted by admins on another site.

How interesting... thats a new line, with 'A10' APU's i didn't think R9 would be the absolute top tier. the 20nm GPU's are designated as R# 3##

watching that space :D

Can you tell us which site it was on?

TechPowerUP! It was the member of staff that writes the news articles who said it. My reply to his comment mentioning the card was also deleted, as I said I was trying to research it. I've messaged him asking why, but no replies from anyone

I said when the R series GPUs were announced that this was a stupid nomenclature. AMD had A4, 6, 8 and 10 in their APUs, they should have followed the same with the R series. It makes sense (IMO) to have both lines with an easily identifiable segmentation, but nooooo, marketing people have to justify their wages :p

Don't think we'll see any new GPUs (aside from filling the ranks below the R9 series) til at least Q2 14 myself

It would be too easily confused between "A" and "R" references - the odd vs even number choices were surely deliberate.

In mythology, Zeus defeated the Titans. Suspect this is just forum conjecture to be honest

He specifically said

"Nvidia's 780ti is playing right into AMD's R10 Zeus trap
I mean
Nothing to see here (whistle emoticon)"

He's their primary news editor, and his post and mine being deleted was some kind of measure...

I hope to be proved wrong :)

You mean... it's coming NOW???

Go to buy a GPU and come home with an APU? If that's the case, I want the next ticket on Branson's space plane. One way.

I was thinking more for spec sheets and written references :D

But I could see your mixup happening - someone visits Maplin with a xmas present request for an AMD R10 and comes home with an A10
