That we have been paying excessively for our graphics cards is something we can all agree with. With just two major players on the market, Nvidia and AMD, it can hardly be called a surprise that prices are surprisingly high. The prices usually remain there, until either one forces a significant price/performance improvement. It seems that AMD did just that with the introduction of their new generation of Radeon Rx cards. In response to the new announcements, Nvidia had to lower its prices. When AMD then responds with the same strategy, the consumer wins of course.

It isn't, just speculation. I'm not sure they would cut prices (AMD) so close to launch as it has the potential to **** off a lot of people who bought into their excessively pushy pre-order schemes and advertisement on social networks lol. Give it a few weeks.

glad im holding off for now on buying a 780, Need to see how my trusty old 6950 will run haha, i'll give it till the end of the week for further news on any news of amd following suit and may go for the r9 290x

Not at OcUK you didn't

if this keep up 350 for a 290 top amd card is looking a very likely result. its going to be very tight profit margins on cards if these fights continue jsut shows you how hard they need the custom :)

It doesn't matter.

AMD got smaller die size, and Nvidia milked more than enough money from their GK104 and overpriced GK110 :D

But of course, the one at the loss would be AMD if they can't shift their cards, since their profit marginal was much lesser on their previous cards comparing to the GK104s.

Great to see some real competition and price wars. Not had much of this lately in the vga game. That's an incredible price DG. The 290X would have to come down to £350-75 to really compete with that.
