Time to post your winter overclocks
So winter temps are finally here! With the cold temps especially in my room (converted attic with no central heating) I've been playing around with my overclock again. This morning when I booted my PC up the CPU was idle @ 15c normally idle @ 30ish and load temps reduced by about 7c.

My CPU while gaming @ 4.6ghz normally hits 72c, with these lovely cold temps I increased to 4.7ghz with NO temp change :D

The rules
wait for it to be colder in your room/place you're pc is located
Overclock higher than you are already
see how far you can go :D *dont go too far and have a melt down I take no responsibility for destroyed parts ;)*
post about your experience

for those interested I'm in the south east and its got ****ing freezing here

Another edit for you... Your room not you're room.

Can't say I'm prepared to sit here in a cold room just for an extra few mhz. Winter/Cold = me wanting the fire on.

Bleh, I am kind of tempted to try 4.7.. But I had to bump vcore from 1.22 to 1.295 to get from 4.5 to 4.6, so I guess I would need like 1.38 for 4.7ghz + other voltages. Not worth it :P

Would, but my flat mates have no concept of money and how you have to spend it if you want to walk around in underwear and t shirt all day and be bloody toasty.

I'm married to an asian woman who thinks theres something wrong with our heating becasue it only goes up to 28C,

I'm not joking i took the bloody radiators off the wall in my computer room.

Even with a pair of window mounted radiators sucking in cold air from outside i can't get anymore than 4.8Ghz out of my 4670k and even that takes silly volts. Normal day to day running is 4.5Ghz with gaming temps in the low 40's. I was gaming this afternoon with a water temp of 14 degrees!! Temps are not my problem. The cpu just doesn't have anything left to give. Haswell is disappointing overclocking wise. :(

Was 5Ghz in Summer, still 5Ghz...don't want to give it anymore voltage on FX6350.

What I have noticed, is gaming temps up 10 degrees since switch to Windows 8 and RAM being consumed a lot more. Think Windows 8 just requires more hardware to run. Still only high 50s gaming with day to day apps still open in the background. I've got my fans on my rad set to low speed and pump set to low speed for peace and quiet.

If I crank the fans up to high, it's like 90dB but I can go past 5Ghz clock speed. :D

Will be interesting to note my temps come Dec/Jan when we get proper cold, converted attic with no heating, I've woken up with the in room thermometer showing 4c last winter :D

Iv put my pc on the widow sil, with the curtian shut over to keep the cold out.

CPU/gpu both idle at about 20c

Full load (an hour on farcry3) gpu hits 47 and CPU 52c

4670K @4242mhz 1.2v (will do more but no point as my video card is too slow)
7950 @1215/1700

EK Supremacey CPU block and EK7950 block, ehiem 1210 pump, 1x240 rad 1x120 rad fans on as low as they will go.
