Movember 2013 - Who's in?

Last year was awesome, I'm going for the "trucker" look this year :D

I asked my employers if I could do Octobeard this year as well, but my request was denied :/

We did octobeard last year in the runup to movember. My face itched like hell, but it kept my face warm in that cold winter. One dude already had a beard he refused to shave (we had seen pictures of his chin and didn't blame him) so he didn't trim it all month. Ot was an epic hobo beard by the end and we had an office full of lumberjacks at the end.

I will defo be doing movember, and I doubt my colleagues will. So more people to canvass for donations!

I'm in, me and a few mates have decided to to it this year (last year we all agreed to do it but, when it came down to it, only me and one other lad actually took part). This year my other mates have kinda been shamed into taking part, but whether they will or not only time will tell. . .

Well I split my chin open last week so can't shave fully, won't be getting the stitches out so until after the start of Movember so will probably have a crack at it.

If you're doing it according to the rules then you should really be clean shaven at the start of the month but provided you manage to raise money for charity I think you should do it however you want.

Agreed. Last year I shaved off my octobeard and started movember with a month headstart. Didn't stop me raising £270 quid. Besides, a month isn't enough for me to grow a decent tash! Unlike Greebo who sprouted an epic biker mo after like 2 days. Where the hell is Greebo these days anyway?

I'm in.

Had one friend diagnosed with Prostate cancer and die within 8 weeks earlier this year and another has just been diagnosed with Testicular cancer.

It really is something that we've got to stop being alpha about and start to take notice of things that don't seem right with ourselves. It's not a sign of weakness to do so

I'm going for a double whammy, I'm getting sponsored to shave off my 5 years of pride and joy  (see photo) on the 31st October

and then doing Movember. I don't care how little I rasie I just want to increase awareness amongst my friends and peers.

I would like to but my moustashe hair comes out ginger after a few days growth and nobodies testicles are worth that, it looks so daft, all brown everywhere and a streak of ginger along my top lip, no way jose.
But i will be donating to my friend mick, he did it last year and looked like "Tosh" from the Bill lmao.

I will start living with my wife again for the first time in 2 years in Movember.... don't think I'll be taking part lol.

Not for me this year i'm afraid. I'm in India for a large part of November and don't fancy rocking the big stinking tash. I'll be mistaken for a local!

Nope - don't see the challenge, I can grow a moustache in about 6hrs. It's a good cause/awareness campaign and a bit of fun, but it's not really something I'm bothered about taking part in.

Getting nervous now, the moustache comes off tomorrow in front of a big crowd at work to raise a few extra quid.

Not sure I'll recognise myself in the mirror and it'll be cold  :(

Cheers :)

It looks like it's going to have the desired effect though as quite a few people are already pledging to give the fund a nice kickstart :)

With great moustache comes great responsibility. Well done that man! I looked at my scraggly face this morning (may as well enjoy some beardage before it stays clean for a month) and am eagerly awaiting the keen edge of my razor.

I already have a 'mo so I opted to donate to the movember cancer charity; but give up drinking instead (trust me that's a stupidly large challenge for me)

so I'm doing No(beer)vember

I raised just over a grand last year so got a funky penknife, a big certificate and some other random 'mo goodies. I'll be keen to trump it this year because the cause is something very very close to my heart...

keep up the good work lads

Right, just off for the de-handlebaring , I have genuine nerves about it :(

***Edit

It's gone , I feel like I've lost a friend and part of my being :(, Oh well onwards and upwards.

Is it in the spirit of movember to shave off residual beard growth leaving a moustache, or are you expected to start from scratch on november 1st?
