*****Apple Fall Event 22nd Oct*****

Yeah, iPad Mini production has been pretty poor, so I imagine they are delaying it to try and meet as much demand as possible with extra stock
 
Just had a text from my mum. She went up bluewater this morning, so I told her to try and grab me one. She's got her ticket and is in line with only four people in front, so it looks like I'm in, so to speak.

Funny thing is they are actually diverting people to john Lewis from the apple store as they are so busy. And they have bouncers! Never heard of all this before!

Went and tried this instore. Interesting, it certainly makes the choice of mini v air difficult.

Still wasn't sure how long you can hold this in one hand, so feedback from new owners much appreciated.

Got my 64GB 4G in Space Grey this morning from the Solihull Apple Store. Started queuing at around 6.30am and was about 15th in the queue. By the time the store opened at 8am there were over 100 people.

It's beautiful! :D

Well they went down the queue at the Apple Store asking what people wanted and giving out vouchers. These were all in a box in rubber-banded bundles by variant and, when they took out the one for this model, it wasn't a very large one so obviously there isn't that much stock of it generally, so I doubt JL had many to start with.
 
Well I've reserved 1 in Argos, 1 in Curry's and ordered 1 from Apple. Chances are both my reservations will have disappear by the time I get over there after work to pick em up but worth a try!

I got the wrong end of the stick. As Vertigo says, Apple weren't sending people to JL, JL were poaching customers from outside the Apple store. No doubt apple will be complaining to Bluewater management. Good reason to IMO.
 
Walked into John Lewis, 10mins later, walked out with Black iPad Air 32gb Wifi+Cellular.

Job done :)

Just backing up iPad Mini to restore to iPad Air.

To clarify, when I said "they" went down the queue giving out vouchers, I meant the Apple Store staff. Whilst there is a John Lewis just down the mall from the Apple Store, I didn't see any staff coming up trying to pinch customers, although most of the queue was behind me :)
 
Anyone been in an Apple store and seen the space grey and white side by side for the Air? Still undecided about which of my reservations to pick up in a minute
