Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Does anyone know if theres a way to filter servers by ticket %? In BF3 you could do this and I found it a god send, I really dont understand why most servers seem to whack on huge tickets so the games last hours.

I much prefer games that last 30-40mins, just lose all motivation to play when its like a 2 hour slogfest, just seems pointless as theres no outcome (as I never play 1 game that long).

So anyone know how/if you can do this? Was just under "filters" in the server browser in BF3, now there is a very very limited choice of filters

Sounds like another reasonable and useful tool that has been removed...

Loving the game so far its so much better than bf3, couple of things I've noticed 1=working as a team is so much more rewarding than in 3, makes you wonder why a lot of people are not doing it, still that wont last.
2=movement is not quite right yet as someone said yesterday its like walking through water, I'm sure it will get fixed.
all in all I'm very pleased with battlefield 4

I know what you mean. Joined a server with 800 tickets per side last night. Took bloody forever and after awhile it becomes a war of attirition that you feel compelled to finish just to keep your unlocks.

200 is the sweet spot for 32 players and maybe 300-400 for 64 players.

I have almost changed my view on this. I had my FOV at 90 in BF3 but didn't change it in BF4. Changed it now and it feels better so maybe it wasn't the actual speed that's changed, just my perception of how fast I was going.

AVOID MOST 64 PLAYER SERVERS, LAG, RUBBERBANDING A TOTAL MESS!

Well,
Nexus and I were playing several 64 man servers yesterday evening and each and everyone one was lagging and rubber banding beyond belief. It was beyond comprehension that a game that has been properly tested has such terrible issues like this (worst even than bf3 on release for sure). So my advice until things get better is to go for 32-48 man servers........

That aside...

Paracel Storm holy smoke in full ultra on the gun boat during the storm, massive waves/swells smashing into side of boat, water gushing and partially submerging it. Gun boat battles, jet ski battles, air attack and defence wow...

Switching to third person when piloting the boat is unbelieveable and definately my favourite BF4 map and moments thus far.

People need to remember this is an unpolished diamond and will get 10x better with optimisation.

But it annoys the excrement out of me at this time but I will remain true to the Bf cause lol

higher fov does seem to make a game faster ;)

changed my mind to played a couple of more games and it feels fine now, just getting used to it I guess

Edit: Also, attack boats are massively OP.

Please don't start the "this is OP! NERF IT!!!!" :p

Attack boats can hold their own when used "properly" but against a good pair in the attack heli or/and jet or/and jet + infantry, a boat doesn't stand much chance.

i.e. last night on that dam level I couldn't move past C island at all because I had the scout heli + attack heli trying to take me out and if I moved I would have then had the aa + 2 main tanks shooting at me too, needless to say I wouldn't have lasted long (and they also had a boat)......

It is also very easy to avoid the boat, just don't go anywhere around the sea area, it was the infantry and tanks fault on that map last night as they just kept coming into my view all the time (helped that they couldn't judge the shell drop that well though!)

prison map on big domination is tense :D

metro V2 :p

And yup, personally I think after a month or so, hardly any one will bother with the levolution events, only a few maps does it make a decent enough difference. IMO they should be timed events too i.e. if no one has taken it down by the time you hit half way for tickets then it will happen automatically.

Im really tempted to pick this up but was also thinking of going with the ps4 version :/ hmmm i assume its seperate stats on the 2 versions just like bf3 was?

Wohld be silly to buy it twice anyway i guess
