Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Loving the game apart from the crashing which is seriously annoying. Not as annoying as getting banned from a server for going 12-1 within 5mins of a domination game -__- was given no reason for the ban either, probably because I was using a sniper.

Edit: does anyone know how to activate the XP boost from battlepacks?

Well I'm not sure when they flicked the switch today but server queues are currently working on our Official set server. Must have been something on the backend tied into Battlelog.

Which is great if the server stayed up :D
 
Well I've graduated from being a complete aimless buffoon, to noob.

The crashing is not cool though. Just as I'm getting in to the swing of it... "Battlefield 4 has stopped working" :(

Shame, the intense mayhem helps me forget...

I agree but I bought this premium at a good price and even if the game bugs me beyond belief like it already is I have the chance to come back later and try the newer maps. I would no way ever pay the full cost of the premium even if the game wasn't as buggy as it is now, it's simply not worth it.
 
Some tips/tricks for anyone interested.

Didn't know about the dead body or escape jet ski trick :cool:

- Pressing E on a dead soldier when medic will automatically switch you to the defibrellator paddles and revive (brings back weapon after revive).
- Shoot once and don't reload in the LAV to get an extra 12 rounds to regenerate in your ammo pool.
- Press F5 and F6 on the attack boat to eject in a jet ski!
- In BF4, you can't suffer from reload syndrome because every magazine you reload subtracts from your total ammo. If you noticed you run out of ammo so fast in BF4, that's why.

Played Paracel Storm - great map, but i just played Flood Zone - it's crap, so i'll never go on that map again.
 
I am really hating it at the moment lost tons of XP due to the crashes in fact got promoted 6 games in a row but to the exact same level because of crashes. You would think they would live update stats on the fly as the resources used would be minuscule.
 
I love flood zone but it is ruined by campers :(

a lot of the maps need to be better balanced, I still get the feeling that DICE try to cram too much into the game/maps and as a result makes the overall gameplay worse :(

BTW, anyone played rush mode yet? How is it?
 
have to say i've just run through 5-6 rounds across a couple of servers, no real noticeable lag and no crashes so far (yes damn it i know i've cursed meself now thank you :P)

yup, i look at the size of the map and where the flags are and wonder wtf they were thinking, could have been so much better , but hey ho :).

why did you uninstall ? , could have just left it there ?

it is getting better fingers crossed ea are getting into the server issues , seem to be doing summat the way the last few hrs have gone :).

It was the only mode I played for bc 2 but hardly ever touched it in bf 3 due to the terrible map design.

Will jump on with you lot for some rush once this buggy POS is fixed :( :p

If it is a crash on your end i.e. the server stays up then your stats etc. stay and will show up once the round ends, however, don't rejoin the server until the round ends otherwise those get overwritten with the new ones.

BTW don't use the big xp boosts yet as if the server crashes, you lose all the time you would have had as well as the boost option. Saying that I haven't had a problem with the servers crashing today.

Personally I quite like the distance between the flags (i.e. on floodzone, D is too far away so I CBA taking it unless a squad member is on it :p), although some are way too close i.e. the ones on the roof tops of flood zone and C and D on zavod.

What I mean more so is with regards to vehicles i.e. zavod, soooooooooo many tanks, earlier on I couldn't go anywhere without encountering a tank!



Oh and yeah westie that sabot shell is ****ing deadly against aircraft! Shot sooooo many helis down earlier and even got 2 jets :D Sooooo little drop and incredibly fast!

Although we had a nice wee run with the scout helis on paracel! Was so awesome just going for the same targets, my aim isn't precise enough with the little bird though so can't take infantry out quickly :p :o

Paracel is definitely my favourite map along with siege.

Man those littlebirds can manoevre on a sixpence , was doing some kind of 360 with the nose pointing downwards taking the flags. Just turning like a whirlpool vertically , awesome. Yep , those stinger dudes were a pain. Pretty pointless as we won by what 10 tickets while they were having their little love in

haha yeah they are so agile and since getting a new keyboard with red switches, I can fly and respond much quicker with the helis! Last one I had to smash the keys to get the thing to respond :D (+ can activate more keys at once [I use WASD + arrow keys])

We were going to town on those boats :D Love flying the scout helis but I just can't hit anything smaller than a vehicle :(

Indeed! It was a very good come back as iirc they at one point they had at least a 100 tickets more.......

Loved it when that attack heli tried to take us out from behind and as soon as it came into view, BOOM! :D Sabot shell right up the ass and then the jet at the very beginning tried to bomb me and it got a sabot shell up the ass too! :p

Oh and our epic fall fail with the tank on the railway LOL :D
