Any idea what time tomorrow we will get prices on 290 pro?

£319-£339 is my bet, plus £30 for BF4 editions

I thought the BF4 editions were only with the 290x?

I've got my 290x on order for less than £400 from another site but if these come in at a better price for performance then i cancel that and order the 290 non X from here.

Did you see the deal on hotukdeals by any chance? Is it sold by company starting with D and ending with S.

If it is going to be £350 it needs some free games or at least 1 decent game.

If you can pick up a 780 with an aftermarket cooler for £400 with 3 new games which you should get ~£50 for it will be too close to call. Decent games free with 290 pro @ £350 and you have very nice bang for buck.

Agreed, the non reference GTX 780 will have a significantly higher OC headroom too.

I am currently interested in either crossfiring my 7970 or grabbing a R9 290. However, at that price point, I may have missed Nividia's better deal.

I'm an ATi/AMD fan and they should be bloody ashamed of that stock cooler! Anywhere NEAR 90c and I wouldn't touch it with yours ;)

A better cooler and I'd def be interested at around £330 :)

But I agree, a 780 at 350ish would be a better buy

What price do they need to be, considering how quick they are, be realistic with price though and I might make it happen. ;)

It's all about the cooler McGibbyGib. I actually REALLY wanted an R9 290(x or otherwise) because I really only play BF4 but the price of a 290x with a decent cooler is way more than the 780 phantom glh I've now bought. Do a good price on the tech labs version than you'd be onto a real winner (if the hints are to be believed)

I've warned 5UB that the 780 may be coming back to him if this 290 is a fabulous bargain (I'll then buy two though ;) )

I actually bought a 780 aswell but and in a few months i will get an 290/290x costum, the stock cooler is just too noisy and bad for me ( even if the performance is there )

To be fair though, my 2x7950s (MSI Twinfrozr) were an astounding bargain at £260 second hand and handle everything at 2560x1600 so far...

What the hell is wrong with AMD? Have they NO ONE at that company that would think running at such a high temperature wouldn't be acceptable to those of us in the know? I mean Jesus H, what's kind of temps are these gonna run at at the height of Summer!! 125c??? Won't be far off I'm sure :D

I think that's why they sound out Gibbo in regards to pricing, no one in touch with the real world over there :(

Still think the 780 with 3 games will be the better choice. These new amd cards with their stock coolers just aren't appealing unless very cheap.

Bit harsh to tar the 290 with the 290X brush? It might not run as hot, which means less strain on the cooler and lower temps and noise.

Sub £320 and sub 450W full load draw and i'll most likely get the wallet out.

grab a couple put em under water and watch them fly this is the card to watch hopefully looking back to the 7950 and 6950 both were cracking

The card won't allow itself beyond 95c and I've only ever seen the 290X throttle when running silent mode, max fan speed of 40%

Plonk fan at 55% and though it's not silent, it is not loud either and keep the card sub 85c happily.

In summer heating is off, in winter heating is on, either way room temp don't change much apart from the odd day we actually get summer. ;)

Yep, those are the ones:)

Whichever one I get up getting, I want to crossfire them this time next year. I don't overclock so Im not fussed about the heat or noise the 290x gives off. So I guess the 290 (now I noticed people are calling it the Pro) will be the same.
