EA wants to turn around its poor reputation - Again?

Put the gamer ahead of profits, LOL, yeah I'm sure that's something their shareholders will absolutely agree with. More bs spouting from EA.

I purchased BF4 on the cheap, but those who are buying premium now especially at full price are extremely foolish. But that's their money, not mine ;)

They need to do more than talk, this would be a step in the right direction for me:

1. lower prices on Origin, there's rarely a sale worth bothering with and new releases are always cheaper in almost every other retailer or online shop.
2. Give me Ultima Online II and don't milk it for cash or make an **** of it.
3. Stop buying good companies with a solid track record and destroying their legacy.
4. Look at selling more units cheaper, I'm not saying it'll be more profitable (which is why it won't happen) but I personally haven't bought BF3 or BF4 as they were both far too expensive.

This.. I've read about "wow killers" so often in gaming media, yet the true one came long before it.. Ultima Online

Only reason it went belly up was ea got greedy, and alienated the playerbase that made it the stuff of legends.. before it became carebareland and the search for fishing poles
The reason the likes of Everquest and later Dark age of camelot were so popular was because they knew they'd be recieving 100,000's of disgruntled former-UO players in a time when the mmorpg market was still in a period of growth
The best way I could compare what they did, would be blizzard putting all the stuff which has driven folks away from WoW as the games aged, during the vanilla phase alone

Same story with your bullfrogs and westwoods, the vast majority of whatever ea touch turns into horse crap, and ends up with ip rights locked up in a vault gathering dust

And I don't care how good the game surely if we wanted to fork out close to 100 quid for a title (with extra content) which will reach the end of its "support" lifecycle more or less after the last "DLC" actually gets released (by which time they'll be taking pre-orders on the sequel) we'd all be playing consoles

ugh.. and anyone that has an OH thats into Sim games... my goodness, don't even get me started, they completely turned that thing into a cash cow lol

I'll stick with indie games... if I really feel I need a "triple a" title, I'll simply grab it during fire sales

Pretty much nailed it, the fact that since UO there hasn't been a game which has had the level of interaction with the world is shocking. Yes it was 2d (well isometric) but you could interact with just about everything, build your own house albeit on a limited number of schematics but actually in the gaming world, near mobs! God forbid they actually do that without instancing these days. meh!

Put gamers ahead of profits... wow I just dropped £85.00 on BF4 for the privilege of premium  If EA was really sincere about this it would have been £40 - £45 for the full game and free DLC for all the loyal BF fans who have a history & who have always bought into to the EA/DICE franchise... Not an extra £40 on top for the "premium DLC" tag.

Seriously... LOL.

I spent £65 on BF4 and if i get 300+ Hours of gameplay out of it, i think it may be worth it.

The problem is, i can't get any decent gameplay out of it yet....

At least we don't pay £46.14 every 6 months like WoW players do...

simcity is still getting patches...
why patch a dead horse

They have the money to prop up the horse for all to see so people still place bets on it.

If they are now into putting customers before profit, they can make things up with Valve and start putting their games on Steam.

Oh, wait. That would eat into their profits, see what they did there.

Picked up my BF4 retail DVD for £32, will research proxies when the time comes to buy Premium, but I'm still expecting to pay ~£70 in total...

Got 200+ hours out of BF3, so feel I got my moneys worth... Just hope BF4 keeps me hooked longer for the extra cost (but to be honest, I could happily go back to BF3, only stopped playing it because BF4 got released! ;) )

EA have killed so many franchises as they look to make them into some massively profitable continuing mega game (like Battlefield). Look what happened with MOH when WF wasn't that popular...
