Getting a Polo BlueGT - In Black or Blue? Help!?

Definitely blue, I never liked black as it seems to remove the detail/appearance of the car if that makes sense. Character might be a better word :p

For me it would be the blue without the Xenons as you lose the fog lights with them which makes it look odd. I really like the idea of one of these, shame they are a lot more than I can afford.

You are going to spend 10k to move from one Polo to another Polo to save money on petrol?

That and I'm bored of my car, no it isn't saving money, but I want a change.

What colour would you go for Fox?

If you are bored of a Polo GTI why would you be any less bored of a Polo GT? If boredom is the reason surely it's time to buy a different car not the same one again?

Not bored as bored of driving it, just want a change of scenery. I loved the BlueGT in the test drive so thought why not?

Apart from this what else would you suggest? I want to have some decent MPG (This can reach 60) and I want to be able to give it beans if I want to (This is 2 seconds quicker 0-60 than the GTI)

2 seconds quicker to 60, surely not? They both look similar cars to me, not a change of scenery at all. If it's alleviation of boredom you seek then buying the same car again seems odd.

Can you suggest any other cars which suit the above post criteria?

Perhaps some other sort of warm hatch? I've no idea what your budget is because I don't know the specifics of your tradein but something like a Fiesta ST? It's different to a Polo.

The thing I'm struggling to get my head around is that both of these cars seem to be the same thing. One is just a slightly more modern version of the other. The performance between the two is broadly similar, not sure where the 2 second 0-60 difference comes from because it looks more like a 0.3 second difference.

I understand why you might be bored of the Polo GTI and feel its time to move on but I don't understand how fundamentally the same thing again would do anything other than satisfy the shiny-new-thing craving for a month until the novelty wears off and you realise it's just another 140-150bhp Polo again, the same as your last one. Only this time you've bought it new and it'll cost you thousands in depreciation to realise this.

So, if you are bored and fancy something new you must, in my opinion, either upgrade or move sideways to something different - the Fiesta lacks the quality of the Polo but more than makes up for it by being more chuckable and probably more fun. Perhaps thats whats missing from the Polo for you?

If all you want is more Polo then perhaps the best answer to the question is the car you already have an £10,000 spare to spend on petrol and holidays.

Specifically which Polo is it you have, what year is it?

At the moment I have an 08 VW MK7 Polo GTI.

0-60 on the GTI is around 8.5 ish
0-60 on the BlueGT 7.9

Oops, thought it was less then that but thats not a huge concern of mine.

The four cylinder deactivation on the BlueGT is once of the attraction points though.

Dont really fancy a Ford as it is just a Ford at the end of the day and would like a nice interior.
