I am looking for a corner sofa but most of the one's I've seen would stick out too much but I've stumbled upon www.nabru.co.uk and they look to be quite good judging from the majority of the reviews!

What I was wondering is, how comfortable are they in terms of the difference between the "standard seating" and the "soft seating" options??

The standard type seem to be simply a foam cushion on a wooden back, which doesn't sound overly comfy for a day to day sofa??

Has anyone got any experience of these?

I appreciate that these probably won't last forever and that "you get what you pay for" but I've got 2 young kids so I don't want to be splashing out a couple of grand or more for one for it to be battered beyond recognition in the next few years!

Thanks for any feedback guys - ordinarily I'd visit the showroom but it's 2.5 hours down the M1!!!!

I was going to get one a while back until I saw some photos of their construction, and I was put off, they look to be cheaply and flimsily made.

To be honest, the majority of the reviews I've seen, including a thread on the Money Supermarket forums, seem to indicate the build quality is one of the strong points!?!?

My concern isn't really how sturdy they are, more that this will be my main sofa in the lounge and so I don't want it to be too "stiff" and uncomfortable to sit/lie on!

Not had a look at Ikea but we have a sofa bed from there that is most definitely too hard for day to day use!

I have one 255cm of niceness with soft seating with Piping :)
Almost 2 years of ownership i am happy enough with it they gave me 4 large spare parts because one piece was broken on delivery
have a look on gumtree etc for real world pics

Most of the people on those forums wouldn't know quality if it hit them in the ******** with a sack of oranges.

"Got these tesco value beans mate, there wel gud, saved me munny"

Hence the reason I'm asking on a decent forum!! ;)

@ the shadow - thanks, be nice to get some opinions from an actual owner, will drop you a mail with a few questions if that's OK?

Had to use these guys because i have an awkward entry point into my house. Delivery was prompt, and the guy bought everything in to the living room and put everything together in about 45 minutes (wish i hadn't paid for the assembly option!). I ordered a 3 seat and a 2 seat sofa bed. I've had them for about 6 months now and they still look great, and this is with 2 young toddlers climbing all over them. I went for the black faux leather which is easy to clean and looks the part. The cushions were quite firm from the start but have softened up a little now.

funnily enough we're looking at them at the moment for the sames reasons as altaz. Going to visit the showroom probably this weekend to get a good look at them. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of some nice soft padded armrests, it's all very angular. Nothing few pillows wouldnt sort lol.

But yes, going to take a look :)

me too , doorway open straight to an L bend up the stairs and there is like a big ramp about 10 inches wide at the bottom instead of a normal railing.

then up the stairs it does a U turn and then an L turn into my living room :@

everything ideally has to fit inside the lift as well.... it's a nightmare getting furniture in/out

Got one in September. We had moved in to an unfurnished flat and needed something quick.

For the price I don't think you'll be able to find anything to beat it. The quality is ok, but obviously will never be as nice as a proper sofa. The great thing is you can customise it exactly as you want it - we wanted a corner sofa bed and couldn't find any of the pre-made ones that suited our needs.

They have a show-room that you can go and have a look at all their stuff if you can get to NW London.

Also if you can, get them to assemble it. Took the guy about 30mins to make and saved the hassle of us having to do it and was only £20 extra.

In terms of comfort we got the 'standard' seat, we tried the 'soft' seat in the showroom. When it arrived it did feel quite still but after a while the foam starts to give a little more. Happy we got the standard and not the soft as I think it would be a little too soft for me if we had got the other one.

Finally, their customer service is pretty top notch. One of the cushion cover ties has come off, they are sending a replacement right away.

*edit* another piece of advice, don't get the conway fabric. its really nice and soft but looks an absolute mess when its on the sofa. we went for the carlton in ruby and are really happy with it *

Oddly enough I came home tonight to the mrs saying our Nabru has started going mouldy under the seating segments. However, that is due to the hot/cold nature of our rented flat.

When we moved in we inherited a really awful sofa that had been passed through the windows before the double glazing was fitted. I had to saw it to get the pieces to get it through the abnormally narrow living room door.

After lots of comparing measurements we realised the only sofa we could buy would have to be modular. We went for a custom Nabru 'L shaped' design.

Fair enough, the finish isn't as good as some expensive sofas out there but the ability to add to its modular design, change the covering/upholstery to something completely different and thus have a fresh/different sofa for a fraction of the cost more than makes up for it.

Ours is solid and I doubt you could break it unless you were an absolute spasming rhino.

If you want swank, go elsewhere but if you want mid-range practicality give Nabru some thought.

Many thanks for this salient piece of advice. I got the samples a few days ago and like the soft feel of the Conway but was not sure how it would look on the whole sofa. I saw a couple of photo's of Sofa's using Conway in different colours and it looked warm but a little staid and old fashioned and now I've read your comment I'll go with the black suede which was my original choice. The ability to design your own sofa is a bonus plus the price seems extremely reasonable.

I am currently laid out on mine and at 6' 2" I bought one long enough to accommodate me.

For what I paid for the sofa, approximately £340, I am very happy. Nice and comfortable.

I was going to ask what did the standard and soft seating feel like... They have one with both, that I have no clue about but will call and ask tomorrow

I've just bought one for my first home. Massive corner sofa that only cost £713 all in. I can lie flat on both side and there's still room!

I find them very comfortable, and they are really deep too, I can't stand narrow sofas. They do take a bit of planning to build however, but I enjoyed it to be honest. No tools were needed.
