Hello all
I have a 4 year old system which I bought from oc. I want to improve my fps on BF4. I am running windows 7 64 with a i7 cpu and 24g of ram. I have a NVidia 570gtx which I get about 40fps on bf4. Anyone know if the new 780 cards will fit my asus sabertooth x58 m/board and would it improve the fps?

Hi

You will defo notice a difference if you upgrade do you have your i7 overclocked at all ?

Im still using a x58 board here also just with at 670 gtx the 780 should fit and work fine with your sabertooth :p
 
Having today helped a friend with an i5-2500k and 6950, the biggest improvement it seems is to do a fresh install of win8.1. It went from a big stuttery mess on 8.0 to smooth ~60-70fps on AMD's recommended settings at 1440p. OK, nothing exciting as it was a mixture of low and medium but even so it's a 6950 at 1440p and playing great - wow.

Well you should still see a nice improvement in fps if you upgrade to a 780 and if its possible to overclock you i7 even better :p

Im thinking of jumping on the 780 bandwagon too myself i play at 2560 x 1440 and would like something with a little more oomph.

looks like I will be seeing the guys at oc in the morn. I know the cards use pcie 3 my board is a pcie 2 I guess these cards work on pcie 2 ?
 
I upgraded from an EVGA GTX 660 SC to a EVGA GTX 780 SC. Huge improvement so the one you are going to get will be incredible!

Nice choice of card the coolers are great and they seem highly rated like you
have said :D there RMA is also uk based so if you have any problems they should be quick to sort it out :p

It's worth noting that if Mantle even remotely lives up to its hype, the AMD cards on the GCN architecture will see a healthy boost.

They are fantastic I can't stop raving about mine. Super quality and a really quiet level of noise. A no brainier for the price really
 
290 is probably the best price-performance for bf4 if you don't mind the heat and noise.
If not then the Gigabyte 780 is a good choice.
