Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 10th November 2013]

Someone able to summarise the game for me (no daft comments an actual decent summary please) stuck on a boat in the North Sea and just got some Internet connection.

Such one sided stats and still lost lol

yep another game with over 60% possession and don't win.

our system is easy to snuff out, just park the bus and crowd us out.

we need to go 4-4-2 and hit teams with pace, we give them too much time to think.

AVB has to have some balls, drop Soldado and play someone else up there, be it trying Lamela(really not seen enough of him to know where he plays well, I assume he's more winger and looks lightweight?) or more likely Dembele back to his forward role he's been excellent in previously. What they need is someone with a bit of strength good movement but the ability to bring the midfielders into the game by holding the ball up and making great use of it, that has Dembele written all over it and was what he did so well at Fulham.

Will laugh if City lose as well but I can't see it. Sunderland have improved a lot, as have Palace, so a bit hard to judge what they'll do if both teams build game on game under a new manager, but I really can't see them being good enough to contain basically Aguero who is in phenomenal form, probably only third to Ronaldo and Ibra in the world at the moment.

Well a great start to the afternoon i must say.

Think Man City are going to batter Sunderland but with their dodgy away form anything could happen.

We looked good going forward in the first half - some great passing movement. We pressed them well - Gouffran in particular worked his socks off. That's how we got the goal: Gouff won the ball in midfield and slipped in Remy. Spurs had a couple of chances but were largely kept at arms' length.

The second half was a slightly different story. We were under the cosh for most of it. Krul played an absolute blinder, but it was generally a very disciplined defensive performace - like the second half against Liverpool.

I jokingly put a fiver on Newcastle, Sunderland and Arsenal on a coupon for over a grand. With the luck that went in that match and one down, it may just happen :D

sandro changed the tempo and did at everton and often does, i'd prefer him over dembele and i'd prefer manu over both defoe and soldado,

so frustrating that we only seem to have one method of play and if that fails, we're screwed. i'll take nothing away from krul but we should've buried a couple today, eriksens chance certainly.

The whole spurs squad is set up to give AVB options but he looks paralysed.

In very our wingers or don't; Play a a big man up front or not; 2 strikers or not; defensive midfielder or attacking playmakers.

You look at the squad and there are options everywhere. They just aren't being used.

Lamela/Townsend on the left and Lennon on the right with eriksen/siggy, Sandro and Holtby would be my preferred home starting midfield.

Dembele is just not offering anything and Paulinho can't arrive late because we don't get balls in the box.

Our fullbacks never actually overlap, they just push up and do nothing. Townsend makes poor decisions and Siggy can't get into games.

The whole thing is just not clicking; conventional wingers (even if they played narrow) would at least allow some opportunity to go round the sides.
