Guess so, the day It all messed up I don't think I mentioned that I was able to boot up after for a short time. Inbetween this 2 digit led screen on mobo showed 00 which means no CPU detected I thinks then restarted and could access bios again. Then I think I removed The bios battery and I've had problems ever since
Maybe you blew the actual northbridge (X79) chipset on the motherboard? from what I've briefly read the VTTD supplies PCI-E voltage on the CPU but it might feed through to the chipset as well?
Hmm okay, why did you think a bios flash would help then if it does it on other boards? I thought with you trying a bios flash it meant that you had the CPU working.

Ran out of ideas i guess, not sure what i should do now though could try the RMA mobo i guess but cant see anything happening. If not then ill just buy a complete new one. Thing is, when i used the x79 ud3 it wasnt flashed anyway but dont see why it would turn itself off also
Is the X79-UD3 yours? if so if you want you can send it me and I'll test it and flash the latest BIOS for you (I have a spare 3820+mobo), you'll have to pay return postage mind.
Or if you want to send me the 4930K I can test that and then forward it on to Intel or wherever you're RMAing it to if need be. I'd offer to send you my 3820 but I don't want it being used in a potentially dodgy motherboard.
